Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model - Page 276

I recently started doing some research on screen mirroring from Android as a possible solution to my car audio integration but then I discovered the mirroring functionality was not introduced until v4.2.

Has anyone heard anything in the rumour mill about Sony considering v4.2 for any DAPs, present or future? Along with a Mimic X2, this could prove to be the ultimate solution in OEM car audio integration.

Agreed that most of those effects on the player are flat out bad.  DSEE is more subtle but also at the same time didn't help me like it's sound any more (well agree it make treble a bit more sparkle but.. anyway).  I really like the PHA2's presentation A LOT more than zx1 and really have they would have a zx2 that is tuned like the PHA2.

This is a leather case for ZX1 sold in Korea.

As other members have mentioned earlier htt  p://www.head-fi.org/t/680853/lightbox/post/10339128/id/1056457
it may look good but not so practical , it's like you wearing a tshirt , may protect you from some dust and some minor scratch but your arms' gonna hurt bad and leave scars if you fall

So... I'm contemplating getting this... or not getting into high end DAPs at all.

One of the main problems I've had with DAPs so far is with the UI. I assume the ZX1 should move along fine since it does use android. Does anyone know if I can upgrade it to a later version of android? Or is it stuck at 4.1?

I tried the AK120, which was an overall disappointment for me. A major thumbs down because of the UI and responsiveness (since I am coming from iOS devices). And frankly, the sound alone wasn't able to justify the price for me.

I'm considering the ZX1 since it seems to be more well rounded. Decent SQ of a source combined with a UI that should already be industry standard. The only downside is I won't be able to use it as my desktop's usb audio, but I'll manage.

Is there anything else I should be concerned about? I can't think of any off the top of my head. I'll be pairing the ZX1 (if I get it) with a FitEar TG334 and possibly their CIEMs.

Excluding delivery... but it looks like local delivery is only $10, so $709 all up...

Now I'm seriously considering getting one

shipping not included. I might order it from their store to save on shipping.

enjoy folks, finally we are getting some good deals. I like to believe that 20 minutes chat i had with one of Sony marketing executive who came to my work with his Sony shirt had something to do with it.

@ Jess70: I would be happy to give you my opinion on how good they pair BUT I am in no way qualified to do so. I have the headphones because they have noiscancaling, are overears (I can`t stand the pressure on my ears of the other kind and I hate in ears) and last but not least because I like the look. I have the white ones and I think they are beautiful.

So long story short: I do not have the experience you have to compare and describe sound. My main use is audio books. My music is just MP3. I bought this player for the UI, the long batterylife and the huge storage (in audio books we are talking about a big bookshelf here).

But thank you anyway for your thoughts about the headphones. You are right there, the volume should be fine.

Just for comparison I still would like to know if the J3 is louder or same as the Japan ZX1.

Well ETA note: Estimated shipment - 14th May 2014.

You've enjoyed your ZX1 during that time. I'm still highly impressed at the pricing though.

I appreciate both your comments although in the long run it would have given me time to compare the Sony to the upcoming new Cowon.
