Oh my, it is excellent! I am taking the view that it is bit perfect and not down-sampling, can anyone confirm this?

Wouldn't accessing the wifi network constantly be a huge hit on the battery life though?

I think the battery life on the ZX1 is very good. I get about 25hours so even if halved would not pose any problems for me.

The thing now is to configure my Synology Nas for access out of my home, so I can access my music files when I am out and about, either via my 4G phone or directly off WiFi hots spots...........

Have you tried 192 yet? Synology's media server is VG and everything should be bit perfect unless you've checked some configure boxes.  I would think the ZX1 has a drop down that indicates res.

Should show covers if in the server browser settings/set images.... box is checked as well.

If you have an ipad/phone and want to have some fun. Load audio station on the synology and the app on the I device. Should allow you to control the ZX1 remotely.

6 hours with PHA-2 is based on mp3 or higher res file?
Doesnt the PHA-2 take over dac function when connected with the ZX1?

Which sounds better to you Rudi, the zx1 with the PHA2 or M8?  1 hour battery difference doesn't mean much to me...

Has anyone tried the Dragonfly 1.2 with the ZX1.  It seems a good solution for headphones that need just a little bit of extra help...

Base on hi res and WAV file are the same

Because USB need power from WM ZX 1 , that's why drain faster compare to the headphone out

Is it possible for the ZX1 to be kept Play 'n Charge while connected to the PHA-2?
6 hours seems too short to last a typical workday.

I do not use Synology's packaged media servers anymore as I find Minimserver sounding better. Primarily the NAS is for the Lumin Network Music Player but I am so happy about the easy integration with the ZX1.

I would expect it to be bit perfect, although the scroll down page on the ZX1 does not give sampling rate details when used over DLNA. The Synology is definitely bit perfect, so there is no downsampling from there, as DSD files cannot be read by the ZX1.

Just wondering if the ZX1 does but listening back to back the same 24/192 file....I am guessing not.

The convenience is incredible having access of over 3TB of music.

Edit:

I should add that the Synology Packaged Media apps does not play DSD files
