Fortis... could you please take some photo's of the ZX1/Vorzuge stack (with band), I want to see how it connects etc.

I have the Vorzuge Pure II (using it with my RWAK100-S). This amp is SOLID. Any dap I get would have to play nicely with it. It's that good.

I can see myself using one app for classical music and the another app for everything else if needed.   Recently, I've been looking around to upgrade my portable player (from an iPhone4S) and the ZX1 sounds very promising.  Having a Classical Music friendly player would really clinch it.

My big question is whether the US version of ZX-1, will be DSD compatible? Since they have mentioned it 'Audiophile', I dont see anything that makes be want to pay premium if it does not support something they've been talking and havent included which is "DSD". Also I dont want to end up with it, if a newer model supports it. For now, I may have to skip Japan ZX-1. Decisions... Decisions...

Does ZX-1 have the internals to support DSD? Can it be added on into an update? (The same way FLAC was added to Z walkman)

Where does it say that the zx1 will be released in USA?

No where yet. Since the whole world is getting it, I do think US should be getting it later (maybe end of 2014???)

Looks like CNET got to review it

you can then use any mini-mini jack you want... headphone-out is just as good as line-out on Walkman's, there really is no difference.
Thanks. If the HO is just the same, why would anyone bother adding this LOD, which is makes is bulkier than a low profile 3.5 to 3.5?

Thanks for the feedback. Nice to know they pair well. Could you please nicely post pics to see how the form factor is?

The other Sony apps don't seem to do much when you don't use them, so I've left them there.

I think you should make a guide on rooting the ZX1 for all us computer noobs! ;)

there is absolutely no valuable information in that review, as soon as I read this I knew it was going to be crap 'although I'd have liked to see more pixels to make it a better choice as an all-round media player'... obviously the point of this being hi-end music-player is completely lost on him... judging by the reply's it looks like it's got the thumbs-down from the 'beats' crowd.

+1. I also hated the review, complete crap. The review suggests HD750 (!) for ZX1. *sigh*

Fellow ZX'rs,

Just some quick pics on the fly before I retire for the night....

Could only find one band strap as the others are hiding somewhere but would be tricky for the second band anyhow given the different lengths of the ZX1 and Duo amp.  Plus I have not used the little bar leveller in these photos which would help a little for the ZX1 to sit more stable like a Space shuttle strapped to a 747 is my analogy.   I would ideally have the Duo amp sitting along the slim section of the ZX1's back as the length is just right for this.

But currently have to use it in a more awkward affair with the amp having to sit on the ZX1 bulge section of it's undercarriage as my LOD's are to short for the ideal seating config for this amp to fit that slim part of the ZX1's back.

Below: due to my lod too short I have to stack like this....

This is how I would ideally stack it when  have a LOD with just that extra inch length...

Just a shame with those lower output recordings (which are to blame and not the ZX1 to a degree) that even the ZX1 is not enough volume wise with my easy to drive 24ohm Sony cans but the Vorzuge is a small power house and have even had a happy session demoing the Grado PS1000 headphones with this amp.   Like I said in my previous post on this where the Vorzuge improves on some areas of the ZX1 and improves detail and clarity it's different presentation although good in it's own right just takes away from a couple of the main wow attributes the ZX1 delivers in terms of it's soundstage and it's bottomless low wide end bass floor dynamics which has become a surprise signature factor on the ZX1 for me.
