Hi anak, and what's your take on the pairing of zx1 with sm64?

Yes I have briefly. It did have teh "wow" effect on me too initially but later I felt the emphasis felt somewhat "digital-ish" rather than natural so I switched it back off. I think CA+ does seem to recess the mids a little bit which I didn't notice with CA+ off.
 
I need to pick up the WM lineout cable actually. I gather yours is 3rd party 'cos I don't think Sony makes one? I only have the WM USB/DAC out cable instead.

I agree on comment, Clear audio plus just sound effects, the beauty of high-end audio equipment is geared to the natural, rustic thanks to the strength of the hardware rather than software, clear audio plus off  the will sound better

Sadly I had the sm64 for only a few days few months back and can't remember it's SQ so I can't really comment on how the ZX1 and SM64 will pair.

thanks anak! I'll be selling off my MS-AK100 tonight..so currently I'm thinking of what dap to upgrade to hehe...or maybe I shall wait till CES2014 before deciding since there should have some surprises coming out soon

My ZX-1 arrived last night.   After experiencing AK100, Ak120, and DX50, the wonderful UI and usability out of the box is such a joy to use.   Great form factor with the bump at the back and the added weight ensure that your earphones and headphones dont drag it around as well.     As woodcan's impression, pairing with TH900 is very impressive and i totally enjoyed the pairing.   Will try out my other iems but I think definitely is an upgrade over AK100, though i find AK120 has a slight edge playing 24 bit tracks.   Just my opinion and mine has not burn in yet so we will see.  Look forward to trying out Roxanne Universal and Final Audio Hope series tomorrow at the Mook Festival.   ZX-1 deserves a good partner....... :)

Dang!
Made me more tempted to order the ZX-1.
Used the AK100 for 3 months before upgraded to AK120.
The 120 also lasted for 3 months.... The main bummer for me is the UI, especially I have about 5k + songs in FLAC...

evolutionx actually raised a good point that the few NX1 owners hadn't really stressed enough. (For me) It's finally nice to have an interface that's fluid to use like the Touch or iPhone Music app but with the SQ of a higher end DAP. Those two features no longer need to be mutually exclusive.

Having lived in Apple ecosystem since 07, the UI seems like stone age behind.
If you have few hundreds albums in your player, you have to scroll from the 1st album in the list until you find the album that you want to play
The random track selection is also a bummer....
If you have 5k+ songs, most probably the random selection only plays a handful of songs, unless you restart the player.
