HI rayzilla,   do you own both the Line Magnetic amp ?    have you heard the dac?   impressions =?

Hello qveda, I do own both the integrated tube amp and the tube dac. Unfortunately I am not really able to give much of a review on them because it is the only home system that I have ever owned. But one thing that I really like about it, and that's gotten my wife and wallet upset at me is the fact that the amp can easily handle a good range of speakers. I haven't had a chance to really turn it up yet but when my wife goes on a business trip again, I am going to let them breathe. lol.

I 'think' that the amp with the stock tubes have a transparent sound. What I like about the dac is that it can quickly alternate between transistor and tube with a press of a button. There is a noticeable change in the sound when I switch to tube on the dac. That is why I came to the conclusion that the amp does not really have that 'tube' sound. With my HD800, I prefer the dac on transistor. With speakers, I think I prefer the dac on tubes.

Sorry that I cannot be more helpful.

Hi Rayzilla,

thanks for the comments.  interesting that the DAC would have such a sound difference. I guess it must be a DAC and some preamp - correct?   that is it is doing more than simply converting digital to analog.  anyway,  what matter is the sound,  and its good to know it could drive some desktop speakers and/or headphones.    There is a guy a couple of hours away in Eugene, OR, that is a dealer for LM out of his house.  I will try to make an appointment to hear them.   I've heard nothing but great reviews about LM, and am a bit surprised they aren't more popular or have more reviews online.

No problem qvida. I hope you do get a chance to hear them.

I have mainly been listening with them from non premium Spotify on my MBA to the 502CA (USB) to Mini218 (RCA) to DynAudio DM 2/7 or Cerwin Vega CMX6. When compared to my Denon 2113, the LM is much more transparent and everything is clear.

The 502CA day is just a day but I guess when it runs through the tube option, the sound changes there. It has more mids and upper bass. More body...

I hope this extra information helps.

Thanks for sharing.  I thought LM only made products with that hammered metal, industrial look.  These are beautiful!   the knob on the VV3 is gorgeous!  and the green lit  meters on the new amps are really cool.  and the giant 212 tube .. yikes,  wonder how much that baby costs.. how hot it gets.   ...  Maybe they will update their headphone amp with the new look.   all of this certainly gives LM a different appeal.
