If you go for 8a or jh 16, make sure you have discuss about your design.
I was using my back up design for 8.a because heir audio found out my design is not work well with the glow in the dark function and end up i use my back up design

I only have 8.a and i am agree What itachi mention about 8.a , but i found the treble is too smooth which may not fit to ballad genre.

Nothing a bit of EQ cannot fix!

Thank you all.
Mimouille; I've always been interested by the se5, but I got tiiiiny ears. So I guess that wouldn't be an option. Even if I'm in France and wouldn't have to pay customs and such...
Isn't the nt6 on the colder side of things...?

I've seen fantastic images of the 8a.
I'd like something exactly like that.

The team of people who designed and built those beautiful ciems are no longer at Heir Audio.

These skilled designers and engineers have left to form their own company-look for an announcement about them soon.

I have the JH16 freqphase, heir 8a arriving tomorrow xD

I dont find the JH16 to have forward mids, the smoothness of the mids make then sound even more laid back than they are in my opinion. Though i dont feel it is recessed, its probably not what you are looking for. JHA also doesnt have the best build quality, and they messed up my artwork color, which was JHA logo with black faceplate lol.

Yes those are a nice pair, I built those for Sheena Melwani while in Thailand, long before the days of Heir Audio.

A point of interest about that particular set, is that the face plate is made out of a wood that is "protected" in several areas of the world, which makes it more difficult to aquire.

Sometimes, one can find spoons, chopsticks, walking canes etc in the night markets in Thailand. I once found a "billy club" made out of the wood....   which is disturbing to turn a beautiful piece of wood into a weapon, but it would be pratical for that purpose as the wood is extremely strong, dense and heavy. One whack with that, and you would have someone's attention very fast.

Any how, I brought that wood in my suitcase over in to China, in very small quantities.

As for building an "exact pair" technically that would not be possible, as wood is unique. One could cut down every tree in Thailand and not find a peice wood that exactly matches that piece. To me, the fact that wood is so unique, is one of the reasons I find wood to be beautiful, and a nice medium to work with.

NT6 is supposedly neutral but slightly bright, nt6 pro is the same with enhanced bass and trebble. I myself am currently hesitating between NT6, NT6 Pro, Fitear 435 or 335.

Thanks for the input.
If it' s not the same team working at heir, I might as well hold on and wait for a while. I'm wondering if the new products that are going to be built by the new company will have the same sound signatures than the ones produced at heir...?
Does someone know about this?

Hi mimouille
I know you had the miracles and sold them. Could you briefly compare them with a couple of other ciems you got ? I'm looking for something different.
Nt6 pro seems interesting indeed...

I really liked the Miracles, but I find both the Spiral Ear SE-5 and 1plus2 better (not by much), so I sold them. The SE-5 are totally different flavor. They are very natural sounding, with a narrow but deep soundstage (whereas the Miracles soundstage is quite wide). The notes have more weight than on the Miracles, and the bass has more rumble (even if I really liked the texture of the Miracles' bass). Overall I found the sound of the SE5 more engaging than the more polite sound of the Miracles, and performing even higher technically. However it is quite normal because the SE5 are much more expensive (1600$ vs 950$) so the Miracles remain a great performer at their price.

I concur on what you say about the miracles not being that much engaging.
Two things about the se5 are keeping me away: the size ( I'm quite sure they won't fit in my small ears) and the look ( the clear silicon doesn't seem to be that good looking).
Are you French by the way...?
