Nope it is at least $300 used that's over the budget

Hey this is cool.  Just a small critique, I find the text on the 880 review really hard to read.  But anyway, nice job, I'll be following this.

Indeed the text was kinda big I made it a smidge smaller thanks for noticing it >.>

Nope just busy with life, finished the SOUND Magic HP 100 Review now, and I just got an ATH AD900X in as well [Big Thanks to Mr.Dorris of Audio Technica] SO Once I finish up the Sound Magic I will start the ATH AD900X, as well as a comparison of it to the DT 880 and DT 990

Oh gawd NO that would have the oppisite effect! The L3000 pads would make the entire sound of an already TIGHT can TOO tight, the L3000 pads took away the bass on my w1000x, in addition the L3000pads removed some of the decay in the bass and mids, less decay is something the Hp 100 does not need lol

Very interesting comparison of the DT880 with AD900x. I compared my DT880 Pro with an AD900 (not x) a while back and was not impressed with the AT. It seemed to have a rather steely, echoey treble by comparison; I was rather disappointed after reading all the good things about its performance with classical. I certainly could not have lived with it. The DT880 OTOH I find difficult to fault apart from that treble peak, which is fairly easy to deal with in any case. I certainly agree with you that all the 880s represent phenomenal value.

much appreciated, I did not give the AD900X time to burn in yet... I felt it really didn't need time to burn in. The sound was better than I expected out of the box! It may be that the additional bass of the X version helps adress the teble issue of the AD900X

This thread deserves more attention. Great reviews and comparisons. Waiting on my W1000X pads to arrive now. :)

Happy to hear it, Actually I should add the Senn Grado I have now to the list, as it's in the right price point
