DX50 Bug List, Wish List Fix - Page 65

Hi, I'm still running 1.2.2 and still get freezes halfway thru a track. Tried using the volume down + power button and get rebooted to the last playing screen. Is this a proper reboot or should I be seeing a recovery screen or something else. If that is so. I wonder if there is a problem with my unit. Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

try the 1.2.5. firmware. if you do it correctly (as the readme text that comes with the frmware says) you shouldn't get any problems.

Hi, thanks for the thoughts. Will have to find time from my busy work load to do the update but need some quick fix for when I'm out and about. Anyway, I've only using a sd card installed with some random music file and have not touch the internal memory yet.

But, I don't seems to get to any recovery page but to the last played screen. Maybe II'm missing something here but I think most rebooted to a recovery page. Please enlighten me if I'm really missing something. Thanks again.

well, try factory reset first. then, if it doesn't help, you need to press one of the volume keys (don't remember which one) and power button and hold until the recovery screen is on. from there though, I'm not sure what you could do to solve the problem (except for the factory reset option, that is already accessible from the advanced menu)

Thanks for trying to help but tried volume down + power button which brings me back to last playing screen. How do one do a factory reset? Might be going at the wrong direction from what have been shared here so maybe another mentioned would be very much appreciated. Thanks again.

Shutdown the dap first then do the Power On/Volume + button trick, that should bring the Recovery menu screen. The instructions are in the FAQ thread as specified in the DX50 Appreciation thread.

The thumbnail works fine for me by that's because I have a folder.jpg file for every album I have on the dap. I used to have this issue when the cover art was not in the folder. Try it out, just drop a cover art in one of your folders and call it folder.jpg (maybe cover.jpg works but I have not tried).

Thanks musicheaven for chipping in. So, I reboot to last playing screen first then shutdown player and do the power/vol+ bottom trick. Please kindly correct t if I'm wrong. Thanks again.

Shutting down is equivalent to pushing the power on button for about 3 seconds while your unit is on until the shutting down dialog screen comes on (Shutting down the System), then you click on OK. After that you perform the recovery power on/volume + steps. That's how I do it, that way it always brings the recovery mode screen.

Got it. Thanks again musicheaven. Have also determined the two files that is constantly causing the player to freeze. Will try to deal with it once I'm on my laptop.

No you'll have to inspect your directory and files but you should only have the music files and the cover arts, nothing else. Also make sure you follow the suggestions for file names and clean tags in the FAQ.

Ok. Noted. Will work on it to get it running as it should be but may need a little more time as I'm not technically inclined. Will work it out thou and thanks for the lead.

Leo.  I noticed a couple of times you referenced volume down + power button.

Try out the volume UP + power button.  You should be good to go.

Hi Howlin, I also just noticed that when I made the last post that I'm using the wrong buttons. Haha, have to pay more attention to details posted and thanks for pointing that out.

I just received my DX-50 from iBasso after sending it back because of a stuck volume button. When I got it back I upgraded to V 1.2.2 which went smoothly. The problem that im having now which didn't seem to happen on V 1.2.0 is that in some seemingly random albums the DX-50 is copying the songs again and again so that I have 100 or so songs in an album rather than 10 and when I select a song to plays something completely different to what is on the screen. If I go into the SD directory the affected albums look fine (no copied songs) but when I go to play a song it is choppy and garbled.

Has anyone experienced this / know a workaround???

Just want this thing to work!!
