I would definitively raise hell before returning it, it's not acceptable to have a product with shaky connectivity. I am being nice here cause two firmware updates in the space of a week is rather troublesome to say the least.

Well...I am also from the first batch, so I went through a lot of Beta testing for the DX50 for sure.  I do like how it sounds but seriously speaking my Sony NW-F807 is much better product all around.  I also prefer the sound signature on the F807 when the two DAPs playing just regular lossless files via my original JH13pro.

Well while watching the board I switched back and forth with my imod then suddenly dozed off and thought it was my dx50, instead my imod. I figured that much after that, I just can't sleep with the dx50 on but no problem with the imod lol. Well don't feel cheated you did try everything you could to make it work. What are you gonna do?

The power plus volume up power on just gets it frozen on the ibasso splash screen.

Anymore suggestions before I chuck it at a wall?

Anyone else have this problem?

My feeling; iBasso expects a certain percentage of returns (rejects), you might just not be the lucky one and have to drop the towel. If I had that many issues with it. I'd ship the unit to them pronto and ask them to send me a working unit plus a little payback for my trouble (spare battery).

I changed my batteries a few times already for charging purposes and never once had the issue.

My personal thoughts are somewhat different... namely, that a manufacturer that manages to pull 2 FW updates in the space of a week is damn committed to his products and wants to succeed (though I ABSOLUTELY agree that it would have been better if the first FW was perfect - on the other I ceased expecting the world be perfect quite a long time ago:smile:, to tell he truth)

I'm not sure how or why, but partially by itself and partially because of my file browsing all of the media is scanned.

I've got two problems though, not related to firmware:

battery cover isn't a straight fit to the housing

play and forward buttons are a bit softer than back button on the faceplate.

You are very right, there is a commitment here can't deny that but you hear members complaining issues not being fixed two releases after they said they would. It might just be a question of QA and to be careful not to make statements until the issue is actually fixed. Lowering your standards is not a solution. The last time I promised an issue being fixed and it wasn't I lost credibility with the users. I might appear harsh but in that business it is cut throat. Other than that, it's all good. wink.gif

The odd thing is when i plug it into my computer and then remove the usb cable it seems to work. Im doing a factory reset but it seems to have frozen...

Do you get the same results just connecting your DX50 with no external microSD card?

Yeah - I'd say something is wrong when you get those exclamation points and all those hex values should not be zeroes... I assume you've tried connecting it to another computer?

And guys, don't get your hopes up with the USB 3.0 readers. I have one from Kingston and it doesn't change the fact that even my Sandisk 64gb Class 10 is just a relatively slow card. It's going to take time.

Yep, I tried connecting my DX50 to the family desktop and it did the exact same thing as it did on my laptop. I've even tried doing a complete data wipe on the player hoping it would sort out whatever is going on and to no avail. It's a shame, with the exception of this one bug my player runs completely smooth. No freezing, no weird volume surges, no SD scan issues, no missing albums in the album display menu, no physical defects, and it sounds quite good. All the player needs now is a playlist app and I would be 100% happy. Looks like my player is heading back to iBasso headquarters and I'm going to be playing the waiting game again for the next couple of weeks. By the way, I have to pay shipping there and they cover shipping back, right?

How long did you leave the battery out? Try to remove the battery, turn it on by holding the button for 15seconds (without a battery).

Replace the battery and try to boot into recovery menu by holding on/off & vol+. Go for a factory wipe and reboot. See if it boots up normally after that. There should not be any SD cards or cables connected throughout the process.

I'm sure you try this all but just throwing out all combinations to avoid the hassle of shipping back and forth:

1. try different usb ports (usb 2/usb 3/front/back if there are such etc.),  My unit works with Win7 64bti on all usb 2 and usb 3 ports I have.
2. try different computer (PC/Mac/Notebook whatever you can get your hand on).  My unit works on the Win7 64-bit Intel plus MacBook Air 11 2012
3. try different USB cables (stock, ones that comes with your android phones).  My unit works on my stock and Note2 usb cable, but IT DOES NOT WORKS with two nondescript cheapo USB charging cables, also DOES NOT WORKS when connected thru an nondescript USB extension cable.
4. try different DX50 if you can find one around you

I had once returned a Galaxy S3 because of USB connection issues only to find out it is my cable that was the culprit and I became very careful with those cheapo usb cables we get from local computer/phone accessory shops here.

You most likely will have issues with the screen protector too then. It's not a perfect fit down to the last micrometer.

I've pretty much done all of that. Thanks anyways friend. I think my player is going to be headed back to China in the next few days :(

Advice for those who having trouble with uncorrect ordering of tracks in albums (as I understand it's FLAC problem only): I fixed that problem with sorting files on my microSD card with program FatSorter: http://fat-sorter.software.informer.com/download/

On some albums problem still there
