From Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/05/philips-fidelio-headphones/)
The M1BTs are available from today at a price of €250, while the Fidelio L2 will set you back €279 when it arrives later in the month.

There are also a range of other headphones coming later, including some in the CitiScape line

Will be great to have them all measured.

Indeed, I hope they send some to Tyll, as I remember he was rather impressed with their past efforts.

I'm personally excited to see what advances Philips has made with the L2!
The reduction in price on the "denim edition" CitiScape is a welcome addition as well...

That is like having a blind date with a beautiful woman, and you take her home and put her on the bathroom scale.

Yes, but if the scale tells you she's some bulimic psycho, then that scale saved you from experiencing a lot of trouble.

Besides, its what's on the inside that counts... right?

Not exactly since the headphones are rather inanimate.

A headphone in my mind is designed to be measures since engineering went into why not try to extract the engineering back out of it?  It is not like the company who made it is going to justify via measurements how to made it sound the way it does.

I do like the analogy thought.

I company claiming great sound, frequency extension specs, and the like should be able to defend a few measurements.
