FS: Modded Stax SRM-T1 Electrostatic Amplifier + Brand New SR-307
Will Ship To: CONUS
New SR-307 and modded SRM-T1 for sale.
The SRM-T1 unit had new tubes installed fairly recently and was re-biased by the previous owner. The mods include removal of the original passthrough RCAs in favor of "higher-end" RCA inputs. The volume pot was decoupled from the circuit and thus the unit needs to be driven from a pre-amplifier for proper volume control. The mods are reversible with a soldering iron and basic electrical knowledge (i.e. with the exception of loop-through RCA, this is a fully-functional SRM-T1 if you know basic DIY).
With the exception of the back where the aftermarket RCA inputs were modded in (pictured), the unit is in excellent condition with relatively minor wear from age.
The SR-307s are brand new and were tested briefly with the SRM-T1 to ensure proper channel balance and operation. I prefer the SR-307 + SRM-T1 over the former with the SRM-323S, as the latter setup (i.e. the SRS-3170) sounds more detached and ethereal whereas the SRM-T1 adds some subtle intimacy.
$Sold shipped CONUS for the SRM-T1 only.
