Yeah but the thing is, Sony did something about it. Isn't F886 a better walkman than any other previous models? Is there any better walkman you can currently buy? Don't get me wrong, you can of course dislike a product, but no need to attack people who likes it.

Show me a better walkman, or a better dap in general, and I'll buy it then. Besides, never a product is 100% perfect anyway, if that were the case, there would be only one model of anything.

now you need to see what amp is better for your headphone/IEM.

also if you're not familiar with this, you'll have to link the sony and the amp with a LOD cable that is proprietary. I guess the cheapest and easiest/fastest one to come by is the FIIO L5. but you'll find a lot of crazy beautiful LODs for sony in the cable section.

and no need for apologies, we're all someone's newbie and all trying to learn more.

Thank you for your info / help. I've been looking at the Fiio products for awhile now. Was actually just looking at the Fiio E17 ( with a cable - E9 ) Do you think this would suffice / fit ( cable compatibility ) with the F886 ?

As the LOD of a Sony dap is relatively silent compared to others, I suggest to select the E12 instead. That amp has really a good punch. And the Sony LOD cable from Fiio will do.

Thank you for your suggestion. If I'm honest, I tend to fall into the "latest product must be best" ! ?

I don't want to attack the ones who likes this player. As i said earlier i was a owner of the nwz-f806 and it is not bleeding light from the corners so Sony can make players without this issue. I think that Sony must accept that this player as an issue like the xperia s had in 2012. Of course i want to buy a dap from sony but not this one with the light issue. i will wait for the next players. When sony made the nwz-f806 a lot of people here talked about the inexistence of buttons to play pause and skip tracks and now Sony offered this buttons in the nwz-f886 and in one year they had discontinued the nwz-f806. Now in less of this time he launch in april the new nwz-zx1. If Sony is what it is is just because of us, people that criticise them, they learn with us. we know what we want, and i want the best.

Eirwyn i promise you i'll never bore you anymore about this issue.

Sorry for my English but i'm for Portugal. Here ion Portugal there is no more a Sony's showroom where i can watch the produts before i buy them and i don't have money to throw away, this is the reason why i buy directly from Sony as i can send the product back and claim the money.

Forgive me if i'm boring you because it is not my intention.

This is typical Sony. They always have an ALMOST perfect product on the table. I understand the feeling you get when everything is put up extremely well but there's a slight nuance that'll bug the hell outta you. But really, at this price point, I doubt you could get anything better as an all-rounder. If price is not a problem for you, why don't you move up and buy the ZX1? I also had a screen flickering issue with my old Z which was quite irritating as I'm a sucker for beautiful displays, but the astounding SQ made up for it.
The lack of physical buttons is one of their ever so cleverly designed marketing strategies. They keep you desiring and coming back for more. Sony used to be amazing in the old days and I hope to see that face of the company again in the near future.
A piece of advice: Just please try choosing your words a bit more wisely.

As i earlier said i'm for Portugal and my English is bad. But forget it if the people in this forum is happy with the issues from Sony and think there is nothing to do i don't belong here. So i will no longer post here against Sony, i will try to solve this matter all by myself. As i said i made two returns for this player and now they are giving back my money, i will continue bying and returning until they solve this issue. You know i'm very persistent. Thanks you all for your support.

Yeah it's very odd, and when i return the first the salesman from sony store online sugest me to ask for a refund because the next  could have the same problem. I insist in a change to another one and when it came the new one really have the same problem now i'm waiting for the refund. The DAP is in transit to the store in Netherlands. I'm glad you don't have this issue in your DAP. There are people here that has the same issue in their DAP but they preferre not to do anything to let Sony know about this issue.

Even more perplexing, that the Sony salesman would suggest that you could have the same problem with a replacement unit ?? ( and even more perplexing, that you proceeded for another unit, after a "warning" ! ? Why did you have to order from the Netherlands ??
