It actually took less than a week to ship - it was out of customs here in Chile on the 21st, and the local courier only delivered two days later. I used EMS for the shipping. I asked PriceJapan to write a lower price on the package, and they did so: the package said "MP3 player - 10200 yen". As a result, I didn't have to pay any customs tax at all, which is nice.

In total, including the player, PriceJapan's fee and shipping, I ended up paying about the same I would've paid for the latest 32 GB iPod touch at a local store, which is insane to me.

Overall a very pleasant experience with PriceJapan, very recommended. And needless to say, the F886 is a tremendous update from the F805 I had. Nice size, great screen, super responsive and fast, amazing sound. And if you were wondering, the physical prev/play/next keys work with pretty much every app I've tried: Poweramp, Google Play Music, Spotify, even Audible!

Hi,

Can you tell me if you see any light coming from the inside particularly along the left border of the screen and almost near the 4 corners? I already send back two of this mp3 players with this issue. I think that it may be a manufacturing defect affecting a random batch.

Many thanks.

I just checked and I can see light coming out of the lower right corner. Did you also buy yours in Japan? For me this isn't enough of an issue to send the device back.

No zamuz i'm from Portugal. I was a owner of two nwz-f806 and they don't have this issue. I have a tablet and a smartphone and i don't see light coming out of the borders or corners. I don't accept that Sony has this kind of issuyou see coming outes, i spend a lot of money 310 € more or less than $ 250 and i want mp3 walkman without this issue. Besides that i think that Sony is doing a bad job concerning the songs that are pre installed, they are really bad in sound. I'm very disappointed with Sony.

ps.   The light you see coming out on down right border is the walkman symbol, that is not an issue. i see light in the border on

every corners, in the junction of the screen and the box where it is insert.

Are there any online stores that will ship the official CKS-NWF880 case internationally for a reasonable price? Not the insane US$50 they're asking for at Ebay.

This silicone case is more affordable but not nearly as cool.

Oh yeah I know what you mean. Right above the Walkman logo I can see light coming "through the cracks", which of course shouldn't happen. I imported mine from Japan to Chile, and that's why I asked if you also imported it from Japan. If you didn't, then maybe the issue could be widespread. But like I said, not enough for me to send it back.

Hello people,

Does anyone else have the issue with the light coming out "through the cracks" ?

I want to now your feedback because i had this issue with two units of this player and Sony must know if there is more players with this issue. Has i said earlier i was a owner of two nwz-f806 and they don't have this issue.

Many thanks to you all.

You can do the test in a dark room.

Could you post a picture of this? And does it minimize your musical experience with the DAP?

It's difficult to take a photo because the room must be in darkness, i try to take a photo but the light from the screen came so intense that we can't see the issue. Besides music i used the walkman to watch movies in mp4 at night in bed and in this case it is annoiyng to see 4 focus of light near the corners of the walkman. This issue don't interfer with the sound it is more like a question of this issue shouldn't happen. This dap is too expensive for me (it represents more or less an half of my month salary).I have a samsung galaxy pocket neo (smartphone) and a tablet  Acer Iconia that costs each one one third of the price of the DAP and they don't have this issue. At the moment i'm waiting for TNT to pick up the DAP to back it to Sony. If they could't send me onother one without this issue i will beg them to give me my money back, and i'll wait for the upcoming of another model.

Yes, in the corner next to the Walkman emblem you can spy light leaking out of the crack where the frame meets the glass. It's not a big deal to me, but I wish the F886's case was machined to fit together tighter as I can imagine dust gettin inside

I want to thank you for your feedback as you are the third  person that  that has this issue including me. I send back to Sony two of this players i think now they are giving me back the money. I told them i want a player without this issue. I'm waiting to hear from them. I think this issue is a manufacturing defect and Sony must know that this defect exists

I didn't answer because I don't have it anymore ^_^.

all my daps have ****ty screens and either bleed light from somewhere or have a cowon like resolution and a viewing angle of 30degrees.

so looking at it in a dap perspective, I would still find it to be the best screen ever, even if all 4 sides were bleeding light.

not saying they didn't screw up a pretty simple job, just saying they usually do worst.

If light is leaking through the player through gaps, it should be an issue. May not affect sound but durability is in question. Also since many have imported the device sending it back is going to be from ones' pocket. But if the seller gets to know there are multiple buyers who have this issue then they can contact the manufacturer and something can be done.
