Walkman NWZ F886 officialy announced!! [192khz/24bits] - Page 48

Will these new Sony players work with all USB dac's, or just somewhat randomly like Android phones tend to?

I have a CLAS which hasn't worked with any of my android devices so far (except through USB Audio Recorder) that I would like to be able to use.

I have the H3 since 2 weeks now. And yes Crime of the Century will sound very good on them. I am also a big fan of Supertramp, so I can tell that from experience.

I just simplified it, that what you said is completely truth.

I treat the albums at my way, i amplify them mantaining he difference in loudness between tracks- I like very much 80's music and in that era the records are in vinyl and the loundness was not very high. That's the reason i amplify them. I don't have pros or cons regarding amps but for me they are useless facing personal listening with earphones. Perhaps one day i give them a try. i have a cd of Supertramp  Crime of the century that has been digitally remastered and the sound is clipping almost in the whole cd.that was a bad work made by engeneers.    The only thing i want to know is  i'm i doing a good choice buying the 886 dap and the h3 earphones?.

Yes, as long as you get the H3 cheap (remember they were originally at 400 pounds!!!, on amazon at 160~ something right now) it's a very welcome upgrade, at least in my case, from the XBA-30, which were already very good headphones. You have more a far less tiring, "speakers" sensation with them, rather than just being headphones. Note, in my opinion, you have to tone down the bass, it is much in stock form... after that, it becomes precise.

Hi,

What release of cd do you have for Supertramp? Mine is for a remastered cd made by Jay Messina & Greg Calbi from original tapes at Masterdisk Studios, New York. Fortunately i just could download an MFSL version from Japan there is no distortion but the sound is very unloud and i had to amplify all the tracks.

Let me check that tonight, as mine also distorts a lot.

Yeah I've already read quite a lot of pages in that thread just wanted to know if the 886 surpasses both in sound and UI.

It is supposed to be on the bright side. That's weird. The f880 has more bass than the f800, so I don't think you'll like that.

Dont have it yet, but reading from the impressions, it has a greater ability to resolve detail and a wider soundstage with more depth.
