They do fit far better in to my ears though, more confortables than the XBA 30s so far....

They sound a tiny bit more spacious than the XBA30, but they do excel at bass, which has to be tamed, but I like how precise it sounds once tamed...

Did you try them with the stock player and use the native equalizer?

I have the Ipod Classic with 120 GB. The addition of a Fiio E12 is a bargain and improves the bass a lot. If the Touch you have, is still in good condition, the addition of a powerful portable amp will get you probably more benefit as the new dap. That is exactly what I worry about right now. And think about it the new toy effect will be gone far too soon.

I hope this keeps me from grabbing the F886 at the first opportunity I get.

Yes I tried them with stock player, I still would tame the bass.

Note that bass is heavily influenced by the silicone buds, be either isolating or not and even how close they are to your ear canal. In my case I used the yellow buds of the XBA 30 becayse none of the H3 fitted me perfectly.

Hi Vect, do you know a good place to order original replacement buds for the Sony in ears?

I honestly don't know but I guess amazon may have some ones better than the original stock ones???

Sometimes you can find original ones on ebay too.

Vect    can you try to ear a flac file or wav file in 88,2 KHz and 24 bits and see if you can fell any diference between that and  the same file in 44,1 KHz 16 bits?

My hearing is not that great, the only Hi Res files that I have at hand are the ones that came included with the walkman. if there is some improvement, I should hear it on very high frequencies but at the moment the only thing I can describe is that it sounds clean. Perhaps there might be just a bit more of soundstage... but I bet this is very subjective. Cymbals are the first thing that come to mind, they are supposed to be heard better, so far I feel they heard more extended (almost nothing) again, very subjective.

Should anybody consider the H3? Well, I like the bass on it and the extension to the high frequencies range, but this requires more attention and more files to test and I don't have such files yet :)

Edit: One thing though... they are far more comfortable that my XBA-30, and easier on the hears for some reason that I can only describe as a sound more closer to speakers.

Or would it be cheaper getting one in HK?

Anyone??

ok vect .

I have a program to convert a wav file up to 192000 kz and up to 24 bits and i think the sound upscaled is better than the original, i tried it in my desktop pc

Does your soundcard supports up to 192000 KHz and 24 Bits? Upscaling a song is not exactly a good idea, also, I don't know if you applied dithering or some smothering algorithm. Also... please read http://people.xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html , from there own is your own judgement.

I don't need a souncard to suport that format the player is the one that needs to support it and foobar and winamp support it, I'll take a look to the link you send me

The touch is very different than your classic. Sounds better and has a very low output impedance.

vect there is true that we cannot  ear bellow and up certain frquencies there is a limit for the bass and a limit for the highs. On another way if you cut those frequencies from a wav file  it is supposed not to dettriorate the quality sound because you will never ear the frequencies you had cut. This is not true because even you can not ear them you can ear the timbre of an musical note and those frequencies have an effect in the timbre.

My hearing is not perfect, I never said my limit applied for everyone :) better hears and better headphones = wonders.
