How would you compare the sound signature and the sound quality of these two?
And, without any sound enhancement, which one can deliver better sound?

Btw, I'm currently using the Cowon J3, and I like its sound signature and spacious sound stage.

Thanks

It's not a contest in truth, my old WM-Z was a match for the AK120 SQ wise (lossless files not Hi-Res), the F887 is marginally better than the WM-Z (better definition) though it also has the ability to play Hi-Res & DSD files, it will be bug free as well.

Looking at this F886 to replace my Z1060. Anybody know the difference in battery run time between the two versions? Also, I haven't seen anything regarding the transfer rate of the F886 via USB. Any improvements there? Having USB 3.0 like speeds makes a nice difference, especially with large file transfers (Hi Res files).

Bigger battery, more memory, sexy design & umm err ? (think you got me).

The ZX1 has some modified circuitry. They've used better capacitors and upgraded some other internals. Also got rid of the extra stuff that could possibly interfere with the output signal, causing it to hiss.
The two might have the same amp, but the ZX1 has 50% more driving power than the F880, while the f880 has twice the driving power of the old Z and F series.

Is it so wrong that I'm contemplating the F887 and the ZX1? I like the slim form factor of the 887 (thinking everyday player maybe?), but would have to have the upgraded audio quality of the ZX1 too...

The ZX1 can be used as an everyday player as well. It isn't that bulky.

Question to the owners of Walkman NWZ F886. So do you happy with it? Sounds good ?

For those in/near Singapore, the F887 is going for S$499 with the noise-canceling earphones. Saw it on a brochure.

I went over the specs last night and your right but I don't get the 'hiss' remark, I have never encountered any hiss on a Walkman since my S639,  I have owned/own the A865 (Euro), Z1070 & F887 Series players and never a hint of any hissssssss.

Do you hear any hiss during silence between songs with IEMs? What about discharging? Is it working long enough?

I'm considering this model to use with Senn's IE800.

I'm also previously had A8 series walkman but did heard hiss.

Vladimir, I think there were two A-Series Walkman's, one with a touch screen & one without, mine was the touch screen model which lasted 72hrs in my company (Euro thingy).

Do you hear any hiss during silence between songs with IEMs?  None.

What about discharging?  Battery life is good in my opinion, I have no complaints.

Is it working long enough?  Put it this way, if my F887 was human, I'd be up in court over the European Employment Directive, it's a little Trojan.

There is no hiss on this device, currently using my XBA-30.

Discharging is alright, battery lasts quite a while but you have to be careful about what to install on the device, in my case, installing a weather widget would drop 1% the battery just by looking at it, uninstalled it and returned to normal.

I can probably get 10-12+ hours of full continuous playback using my XBA-30.
