Twice a day? Maybe wi-fi, bluetooth, live wallpapers, and some other apps are draining the battery? 2 times a day is not acceptable.

Wifi only when accessing internet, no bluetooth, no live wallpapers, screen at lowest brightness, the "idle" is showing up as the largest battery drain when i checked.

Be careful with whatever you install on the device, I was having problems when I installed a widget for the temperature, it was pretty inoffensive on my xt890, but on the walkman it drained the battery just by looking one second to it. The battery is alright, can probably last you 5 days without charge but that's only listening to music. Other task take its tool on the battery.

Another problem I have is that my Musical Fidelity EB-50 IEMs sound like **** out of the headphone jack, the primary problem was the complete lack of bass, they sound better on my old walkman phone. By chance I tried connecting them to the headphone jack through an extension and the bass came back, and I'm still not sure if this is the full potential of my IEMs. The only difference i noticed is the number of conductors on the head. The EB-50 has three rings while the extension has two. Any input would be appreciated.

the NWZ-F886 has noise cancelling, if you look at the rings in the earphones supplied you will note that they have 4 rings. 2 of the conductors are used for noise cancelling. the third ring on your EB-50 may be doing something weird with the noise cancelling, also check that clear phase and noise cancelling options are disabled on sound.

Noise canceling and clear phase was already disabled, how can I deal with this aside from using the wm port?

I honestly don't have idea... all my earphones have been stereo since I remember.

If you have a headphone plug like you have and the sound is off, then you need to use a stereo extension cable to get back to proper stereo. Had this with my external Xonar U7 soundcard. When using a Idevice headset cable, which has also 3 rims the sound was totally off, faint and distant. I can change cables on those phones, so I do not need the extension. Btw the original NC headphone has 4 rims, at least on my NWZ-A845.

Hue, are you sure your jack was pushed in all the way?, is it a made for ipod cable?, very strange problem.

on the eb-50 there is one more connector on the jack (like noise cancelling headphones) left/right/mass and one more for the remote thingy to get calls on phones.

the question is to know if that connector is at the place where sony uses it for the noise cancelling, or if it's reversed?  the ground is shorter to make place for the extra connector.

did you try pressing the remote? if it's an ON/OFF switch it might help, if it's ON only when you press it won't help.

I recommend asking sony and not to use it for now. (yeah I know I just told you to try the remote, but you should never listen to me anyway!!!!!!) ^_^

It appears the available stock date of Nov, 25th is correct, according to Sony U.K.'s website, states "available now"

For any members that already own this model, do any of you regret buying or disappointed by it ? Seems pretty positive feedback on thread.....I don't know whether to buy, or wait for a ZX1 ( hopefully, sometime next year ! ? )

If you have the money to spend... go after the ZX1 imported. I enjoy every single bit of the F886, now I'm just waiting for the sdcard swap mod and my life will be complete :D

I received mine from Amazon for £206 free postage, and i dont regret it,although i wish the volume had been a touch more ,my A826 and sony z mobile go a bit louder, but the f886 wipes the floor with them musically!then again i still prefer the fiio x3!ive never had noise cancelling before how does it actually work, ive not tried it in the suggested circumstances but i cannot tell any difference for example in the car
