Is the WM USB cable common between F800/Z and F880/ZX1?

I have got good dock adapter and want to use in ZX1.

I really want the ZX1, but i'm impatient to find out what these players sound like. If I were to buy a cheaper model, I would prefer the 887, obviously for the extra space.

Yes, I think the Amazon price will very likely come down. I'd like to have a new player for my 50th birthday next month.

Edit to add a helpful post on amazon says that sony hope to have stock back in on 25th november at £259. Might be worth waiting till then.

Got to admit it is tempting seeing it sit there like that. Wonder if it's in shops yet?

Sony online told me that it would be mid December. ( when I rang last Friday. )

I just made a field trip with it, 30 min walk to school and 45 back from it (I had to go to tesco), battery went from 97% to 89% with continuous shuffled playback on my XBA30. 11 hours on stanby were barely the 3% (had charged the f886 the day before it and it was at 100%)

I used poweramp, however the buttons seem to be linked to the walkman app... that it seems to be permanently on memory, not even android sees it since you can lock the screen and have it turned it off but the buttons still work.... or that's why I think at the moment.

That's weird. Still deciding whether or not I should get them or just save the money and buy a better pair of iem's.

Just picked mine up from the local Amazon locker,at £206 free postage looks like i got a fair bargain,no screen protector though,so handling with kid gloves, going to add some HD music and see how it fairs up against the x3.

You received it already? how? you didn't cancel your preorder?

Edit: Same avatar different user.... sorry.

Hopefully it will be better than the X3.  Hopefully that the dreadful Euro Cap has been put to death on the new F-walkman.

The Walkman USB is standard to all Walkman's, Sony aren't Apple.

The Euro-Cap is not a myth, it is The Law' de-facto... how manufacturers implement it is down to them you cannot circumvent Sony's implementation, hope that clears any confusion.

Many are making assumptions on importing so If anyone needs any help buying a F887 from Japan pm me, any general questions ask in the thread & I'll try to answer.

btw my PHA-2 arrives from Japan on Thursday, no Customs incurred.

I live in Sweden and I would get absolutely wrecked by customs and taxes, don't really see how I could get an F887 without it ending up costing me 410€+, which kind of sucks since the zx1 is sold for roughly 500€ in Japan.

Engage with the Seller before you buy & get Customs value agreed (know the limits you are allowed in US-Dollars), works for me.

Thanks Noble-Geezer.
Because the new walkman can digital output.
So I am not sure the circuit change or not.
Has any body tried it?

One of the reasons because not a single person has ventured into this is because we don't have any recovery images either. There is really no need to root a device like this, except that is because of enhanced functionality (like adding an SD card). The device itself doesn't have extraordinary hardware, what it does have is an excellent sound and screen. Of course, I also like to root my devices, however other cellphones have more functions that can make use of root...

that rant should tell you why people doesn't want to mess with the OS without being completely sure that they can revert changes.
