Done! Besides it's placed in a very hot attic.

my concern goes for the battery that most likely was shorted by some water. no idea how that ends up usually, or if there are some safety included now that most batteries have a bunch of circuitry in them.

There was clearly something wrong with the battery as it messaged that it's empty and refused to charge. Moreover there was a shade of water under the screen.

sorry for the confusion I wasn't helping you at all. :(

I really had an impression that your description could be applied to F887 too. And probably it can!

My wife's F-887 is partly back to working state after some water therapy, but unfortunately the battery seems to be dead. It drains extremely fast even in idle. Does anybody knows if its battery is replacable? I failed to find anything about this issue on Sony homepage.

Ah F887 sounds great, overall sounds pretty similar to ZX1 going by memory, but I think the ZX1 had better bass and bigger sound stage.

Also I think people should try the volume output trick, makes the F887 louder, more dynamic. Just go to settings > apps > all > sound enhancements > disable > ok.

This is best done from a fresh start up, with this done you will only need half the volume you were previously using. You can't use any of the sound settings with this done. To return to regular sound just go to apps and enable sound enhancements, then turn unit off and on again.
