Nah, the ZX2 is in a totally different price segment. The F886 successor is yet to come. Sony is working on a NWZ-ZX100 and a NWZ-A26/27 right now as reported on:

They do not have much, but the ZX100 could be what Kvud is waiting for. On the other hand I have both, the F886 and the A15. The A15 is nearly as good as the F886 and has a fantastic battery life that the F886 can only dream of. The Android system eats battery life. Additionally the A15 has an Micro SD slot.

i think that A10 is closer to ZX-2 in terms of sound than F886 ?

The A10 series sounds almost identical to the F880 series.

Well... never heard the F880 before ... BUT i had F807 for some time and it was harsh sounding and bright and some people reported that its sound sig. is similar to F880 ... and since that the A-10 is completely different from my previous F800 ..neutral to slightly warm ..... so that was my assumption

I haven't heard the F800 series before but I know that the F880s use the new S-Master HX rather than the S-Master MX in the old F800s. The F880 series is also part of Sony's hi-res audio line.

I have heard both the A15 and my F886, I didn't really hear a difference. Perhaps my F886 sounded slightly warmer? It's too close to tell really. But when you jump to the ZX-1, it's a night and day difference.

It is really confusing.According to this review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tt5OLFosDvU both sound identical with f880 offering a faster experience because of newer android and being louder because of  stronger(but still pathetic) amp.The same guy states in another video that zx1 is much better than f880 in sq but head over to the zx1 thread and  some users who have both state no apparent  difference  in sq,a little deeper bass and thats it.

Having demoed the new a15 at a store for an hour the sound is warmer and more musical than my old f805 which is brighter and has that somewhat metallic treble tone that some refer to as harsness but it is better in the clarity department and slightly more detailed(no burn in the a15,they literally opened the box once i brought out the se846 and ie800:D).

Coming from someone who has had hundreds of hours on both the F886 and ZX-1 I would say the ZX-1 is about 40-50% better than the F886.

My biggeste complaynt with the F886 is its lousy battery life. It is so bad, that I don't use it much snce I got the A15. So as a user of the ZX-1, how long does the battery last in a worst case scenario? To me the A15 is good enough soundwise combined with it's stellar battery life to keeep me from buying another android based Sony DAP, no matter how great the sound might be.

Oh yea, the battery on the ZX-1 is just as bad as on the F886. play a couple hi res tracks here and there and the battery will be drained very quickly.

Oh man, I just placed a very high bid on a used ZX1 that ends in two days. Wanted to check the 40% better sound compared to the F886.

You will be pleased with the sound for sure just not so much the battery life.

Overall I think you will enjoy the ZX-1 a lot. Please report back with some first impressions smily_headphones1.gif

If you turn off all enhancements including EQ/BASS, and only use standard  FLAC, the battery life should be ok.

I won the deal, now I am waiting for the ZX1. Regarding the battery life I found a table comparing the ZX2 ZX1 F887 and A17 with the rest of the market. The ZX1 is on par with the F887. So it's not so much, but if it sounds good.....
