I have never heard my portable music sound so good ! Just wonderful crisp detail, with any music genre / album I've tried so far. Very "live" sounding.
I hope you enjoy your ZX-1....I'm sure you will !
Again, I do not understand what is the point to go with this "sandwich"Design by Aiwan (www.kolobok.wrg.ru)if you could just buy a normal player!
way to say that the amplifier called Nu Force MMP sounds better than the Е12 - I did a comparison on my "Z" and "F"!

Well seeing that I never bought an amp before, I can't compare to anything. ( It was bought mainly because of EU volume cap. )

There will always be better things out there. But the stack that rob49 selected is a good value for the money.

I highly recommend that you listen to Nu Force MMP Design by Aiwan (aiwan@yandex.ru)at times it is better than e12!

It's something I may look at, but all I can say, is that I've never been more impressed with my portable music, since pairing the F886 with the E12.

I wouldn't sweat it, dude. There is always going to be someone saying "you can do better."

The E12 is VERY good for its price, and the fact that it can drive some of the more synergy hungry cans makes it that much better.

Pair it with the F880? It may not be a two story luxury house, but it sure is a nice two bedroom condo on the beach wink.gif

If only !! I could picture myself there, with my combo in my pocket, relaxing to the sounds of the waves.....rather than the hell hole. ( thanks to neighbours ! ) that I live in.

So that is why you are using NC headphones.....

I actually suffer from severe M.E. / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. ( a term which I hate !!...M.E. has many symptoms besides fatigue. ) One of those symptoms, in my own personal situation, ( and other sufferers, ) is being severely noise sensitive.

I did buy the NC for that reason, but I can't say I'm too impressed with them, but I have only tried them indoors so far, obviously with Spring / Summer around the corner i'll be able to test them outside in my garden.

I've been a sufferer for more than 13 years now.....for the first few years, I could not even listen to more than two / three songs of a cd, before I had to switch it off.

I have mixed views about NC option, regards the music side of things. I don't like it on with my Walkman / amp, but sometimes like it on, with my hi-fi system. I think a lot depends on the type of music you're listening to ?

First impressions:

PriceJapan does work... but I still got stung by both customs and parcel force, total extra paid was 28,76 pounds (EMS option also took quite a while in customs, but again, it indeed works)

The Xperia Ultra for some reason doesn't recognizes the PHA-2, nothing happens if I use the digital cable. My F886 and my PC recognize it no problems. I'm therefore rendered to use the line input of the PHA-2 with the headphone jack of the Xperia Ultra, works well and SQ is slightly improved.

SQ is the same as my F886!!! (remember, subjective to my ears) but louder, I suppose this is quite a plus for people that has power hungry IEMS.

Did you pay for express? I find I only get dinged bigtime by customs (here in Canada) if I pay for express shipping.

Vect... turn your Xperia off then back on when connected to the PHA-2, it should recognise it after.

you may also need to download drivers to your PC, get them here:-

I tried that but sadly it's still not recognized.  I bet that if I flash a custom rom it will work but for the moment I don't want to unlock my bootloader (warranty and everything).  With the F886 using the supplied cable it works  without even restarting the Walkman,  even better I still can use the sbh52 as a remote control (Bluetooth)  and the sound still  goes out through the amp,  which allows me to  have everything even my volume control  thanks to the Amp. Do you know any particular pouch that allows me to bring both PHA -2 and F886 together whilst walking?
