Easily done !

All I can say is : F886 + Fiio E12 + Sony MDR-1RNC = WORDS FAIL ME !!

judging by the reviews this player eats the battery twice as fast as 805 version?

good day!

I'm planning to buy a dedicated mp3 player.. and sony walkman F886 is on top of the list. currently, it is not yet available here in the philippines. my question is, will the F886 be a good combo with JDS Labs c5?

My target portable rig would be:

Sony walkman F886 > Fiio L5 > JDS Labs C5 > TDK BA200

Any comments on my rig? will it sound good? TIA!

So I listened to the Z1070 yesterday again and to my surprise the sound is so much better than the F887 when using Poweamp. The sound is much more clearer and more open sounding. The intimate and lush sound of the Z makes a really good pairing with the CK100. Another good thing is that even bad recordings/low bit rate still sounds really good. There is just far too much details coming from the F that makes it sound harsher. And even though the F has more power than the Z, when using Poweramp the Z is much louder than the F. Makes me wonder if I should have brought the older F series instead...

Glad you're liking the Z.

To me the Z is the best Sony player brought out in terms of style (thin, big screen & build), not to mention the sound. I dont have the ZX-1, but the Z still wins in terms of style.

A very good player indeed. The only problem is the UI is not as smooth as the new F. Sometimes there are also minor skips in the music as well. Not a major problem, but if these were fixed it would have been perfect.

Just wondering, what is the difference between the F800 and F880, sound wise?

I hope it's okay to ask in here but I've had my headphones now for about a month and they're starting to break :( I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what i could do to try and fix them? Looking online I've seen a video saying to cut through the cable and mess about with the wires because they're probably loose but I can't do that because the cable isn't a thin plastic one it would be tough to cut through and not damage the wire inside.

The sound just sounds really faulty unless i hold the end connection bit at a certain angle which obviously is a big pain. Bought the earphones from ebay so I can't return them but they cost £80 and I can't just afford any new ones :(

Cheers anyway any help would be really good!

you may want to have a look at this part of Head-fi for advice (or start a thread in this section): http://www.head-fi.org/f/6/diy-do-it-yourself-discussions

otherwise it might be a good idea to ask a local hi-fi dealer who does cable terminations for help.

ps... have you emailed the manufacturer direct?

If you have the F886, what about the included noise cancelling in ears that where included?

I gave them away to a friend, also gave my old Sony ones to my sister so no spares for me! :(
