No one will know for sure till the final product is released. Remember that all it takes for a the sound to change is by changing the damper filter at the nozzle.

That's true. I guess I'll just have to wait a little longer to find out.

From what I hear, h3 is likely to be tuned very differently fro 4r, which is neutral.

Not really, IMO. I heard it as neutral-ish if you wanna use the word neutral.

Yeah. It sounds natural, not flat. It definitely has some bass emphasis, but it can still be considered "neutralish".

Just saw the news sounds very interesting if they can give the great Sony bass with the instrument separation from the ba's im in ! maybe an improvement with a similar sound to the atomic Floyds superdarts just hoping its not a massive V :(

Looking at that connector it is definitely NOT the same as the UE/Shure connector and it looks very well designed... I am now officially interested in the H3!

It looks like EX1000 connector to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't have any Sony's with replaceable cables on hand at the moment but I thought it looked like the connector of the EX1000/MDR7550 to me (I think they both use the same type)...

Not quite the same.

XBA-H3

MDR-7550

Thanks for the pics and the clarification Music_4321 looking on the internet the EX1000 looks like the MDR-7550 as well so this connector is new. But I still think while it is more like the shure/UE connector it is better designed because of the locking plastic piece above the actual connector. Having said the 7550 connector is clearly designed to be more stable.

That's what it seems to me as well — we'll see if these connectors prove to be good / solid enough, though, as the Shure's looked very promising but weren't as good as they initially appeared to be (certainly the swivel mechanism proved to be a PITA, among other things).

Yes, it does seem to be that way. Also, as far as I can remember, the 7550 connectors are of even better quality (metal as opposed to plastic) than those of the (much) more expensive EX1000; the 7550/EX800, after all, is meant to be a studio/stage monitoring phone. The 7550/EX800's housings certainly have better build than the (flagship) EX1000.
