Sony XBA-H1 and XBA-H3 Hybrid Dynamic and BA IEM - Page 149

I have the Rockjaw gear coming in to review so think I will wait until I see and hear what they send me. Otherwise I may try the Tenore as they seem to be an affordable safe bet, possibly the DN2000. I also am tempted to pick up a pair of the NAD Visit HP50 still.

i just hope tenore dosen't turn up to be another mh1!!

fidelio s2 is deemed superior to gr07 by many,,,,but isolation will be a problem

Man I wish this thread was shorter so I could read it all haha

I just picked up the XBA-H1's and I have to say I don't really like them they sound very harsh to me on distorted guitars... is that a general consensus? Harsh mids? I'm really intrigued about the hybrid design but the harshness and no cross-overs worries me, if you have a high driver and a bass driver and they both over lap in the mids maybe thats whats going on?

Thinking about trying the H3's? There $250 right now but looks like only until tomorrow.....

I probably have idk 30 hours on the H1's, for softer music there ok but for rock almost unlistenable, bass is good but not ad heavy handed as I was expecting from the EXTRA BASS slapped on the box.

I hope this chart can help some to find their IEM signature for Rock music and their tastes. ;)

The EX 1000 went into the luggage, the H3 stayed at home. Reason? EX1000 has a deeper and better defined bass and is more balanced overall. It is for me simply the better headphone.

For me when you buy something expensive, I think it is good to take a bit of time, especially if you can not test the equipment.

You just compare the frequency response of the selected IEM with this table and you will have an idea of what is highlighted or not.

I don't know about the H1, but the H3 doesn't have a "bloated bass" sound to it. It's more of a "expanded bass" deal.

the thing is amount of bass/treble is just relative, nothing quantifiable or absolute.

to say its bloated or anything it has to be compared to something which is the reference.

by the way still waiting for more proper h3 reviews,by proper i mean detailed comparisons with what the competition offers.

It seems as if you are on a crusade against this IEM and are posting with an unusually high frequency.

IMO that's just an excuse, just look at seeral of the previous pages. I seem to remember something similar happening in the past in this thread, only your posts were less subtle. You're position is already well established and if you don't have something new or important to add, you might consider toning it down bit. Just say'in.

We already figured what sardar was up to about 100 pages back. Most of his remarks are misconceptions, as he's never even owned an H3, let alone heard a "matured" one. If you don't like Sony's "commercial sound" (Whatever the hell that means), no need to remind everyone else constantly.

If I did that the Frosty One (Currawong) would have pulled the rug out from under me in a blink.
