I'm looking for an inexpensive DAC / AMP combo to drive Audio Technica ATH-A900x and a HifiMan HE-400. After extensive reading on here, I see the HifiMeDIy Sabre USB DAC is recommended around the ~$50 price point. I also saw someone on here recommend a CM6631 / CS4398 DAC from Ebay. The one from Ebay seems to have better support of support 16/24/32Bit and 44.1K/48K/88.2K/96K/176.4K/192KHz and uses the following combo CM6631A + CS4398 + OPA2132. The one from Ebay doesn't really have a name other than I read "Breeze" on it. What do you guys think? No name or HifiMeDiy USB Dac for my first one? Thanks for your help.

I've actually had both of these devices but not at the same time. From what I remember the hifimediy was a little higher quality. THe headphone out on the weiliang cm6631a/cs4398 dac was awful but the rca ports to use it as a dac were fine. Neither one got loud as an amp, you'd probably want to just use these as dacs. the headphone out on the hifimediy quality was fine.. since that's it's only port it would have to be, or the product would be total failure. I'd recommend the hifimediy as your first taste of dac/amp. you can always use a 3.5mm to rca cable to pair it with an amp if you have to
