I'm glad she is enjoying them.  IMO, that's the most important part in this hobby.  My wife has her DTs by the nightstand. :)

Cheers!

Not a criticism at your parenting but a 7 year old with such an expensive gift... Damn, how times have changed. Not to sound like an old man (im 27) but back when I was a 7 year old, if I had asked my parents for such a gift they would have laughed in my face, and rightly so!

So you didn't get a sega mega drive or a console or a bike or something similar at her age? You have to account for inflation just a little bit... you also have to account for the fact that you probably didn't think 1 second about how much money whatever gift you got at 7 cost.

Gotta agree here. The Super Nintendo came out in 1990 and cost $200, meaning a $350 gift in today's money, plus each game was $60-80, meaning over $100. If you bought your kid an SNES, two games, and a spare controller, we're talking the 2014 equivalent of around $600.

Suddenly a pair of headphones for a kid who loves music and will be using them every day doesn't sound too bad...
