Hi there, what's a decent, cheap headset with microphone for use with an android phone, like to listen to music, directions, and do conversations in the car? <$50 US, please, and the sorts of places to get them would be great!

The review unit of the Hisoundaudio E212 I got is great. Good overall SQ, soundstage and the cable is not very long and is braided so it will be good using with a mobile. It retails for about USD$38 on ebay. Other good brands for that range include models from Brainwavz, Dunu and Astrotec None of them has microphone function though. Generally IEM's with remote/mic cost a bit more than that.

Microphone is non-negotiable. I don't even want mention of ones without microphones.  And open is extremely strongly preferred.

I believe the Sony MH1C will be a good option. It is highly rated and are built for mobile phones.
