I wouldn't say the momentum is of the same resolution or technicalities of the hd650. I mean a properly driven hd650 (from a graham slee UL amp for example) reaches very close to the beyer T1 and is pretty much on the level of a d7k. Same can't be said of the momentum IMO.

But in termos of resolution do you think the h25 and the amperiors are on paar with the momentums? I really want to try the amperiors or the hd25s but also i dont want a downgrade on sq and resolution of course...

Resolution, yep. Both are on par.

I think the Amperior is much better than the Momentum at just about everything. The only advantage I see in the Momentum is that it never gets fatiguing.

You are tempting me.... :-D

I was really thinking of tryong to get some cheap used hd25s on eBay or something but the amperiors are sounding better and better....

I can see why someone would say that. Soundstage, impact, air and speed are among the few advantages that the amperior has. But the momentum has a enough over the amperior too. A natural sound is one of them.

a recable second hand Momentum?

anyone know if Momentum replacement pads exist? after my grado bowl pads disintegrated over time whether I used them or not, I realized I had to consider the ability to replace pads if all headphones pads eventually breakdown into nothing usable.

Guys the amperior dropped to 170 euros On the Gérman amazon. I am thinking of returning my momentums and maybe get them... Bad choice? Stepback?

While the Amperior is not as good in "resolution" when compared to Mometum but it is more aggressive sounding at least, to me. Why not give it a try smily_headphones1.gif

I am just affraid of getting worse than what i already have. I loove the resolution of the momenrums despite being Laidback bit also i am having some confort and seal issues. I keep reajusting them every 5 minutes...

But there is not any portable as good for 170 euros or dollars right? Not even until the 300 Mark...

If i get the amperiors i think i might go with the silver ones though... Damn everyone was complaing of the amperiors price and now they cost less than the hd25...

If you dislike the Momentum because of the reason you stated above, then the Amperior may not be for you as well! It's less comfortable and the clamping force are just crazy D:

You need to just try them yourself because not everyone thinks "best" is the same thing.... For portable headphones I doubt you will get much better than the Momentums at the price.

I ditto your ditto.

I'm having a tough time beating the Momentum personally. You can get better sound. You can get better isolation. But the comfort to sound ratio of the Momentum just makes you want to grab it again and again.
