Does the DX50 need burn in? If so, how long?

]Yes, around 200 is what iBasso said...

Out of the box my unit was a little harsh or brittle. Either I'm going crazy (highly possible from over browsing  Head-Fi) or....my unit now sounds a touch smoother.

Still many hours away from 200, The last burn in marathon I went through was with GR07 MK2, so the 200 can come casually for DX50.

Thanks!  Need to find a demo to listen to... may look better if it's all black and with some right-angle connectors... that stack is not too appealing.  Don't mind size as this would not be for on-to-go use.

For IEMs I find myself reaching for the RE600 and the 1plus2 the most these couple weeks I have with DX50.  1PLUS2 has an especially nice synergy with it on mid gain.  The sound is so transparent yet rich and full.  I like this paring more than the 1PLUS2 with AK120.

How is the 1plus2 fit (any inconvenience in inserting/wearing them)? Those are universal, correct. I read a lot of good things about the sound, are they that great?

I like this pairing so far... the flat-4 kuro are quite bass heavy which are not suitable for modded x3 (the bass will not go away.......). however when paring with DX50, it gives a more fun and balanced sound....they are not as sensitive as the Fitear hence i needed to ramp up the vol quite a bit (or maybe i have gone deaf LoL).... pretty good mid-fi choice... I will give it another week listen  to see if sound isolation is not a problem outdoor... I may even recommend to friends who demand quality in earphones but do not want to spend 4 figures usd on earphones....

So I finally figured out what is wrong with my dx50 - the screen is faulty. It goes blank on startup but I can press play and music will start playing. How pathetic.

Once the touchscreen buttons failed completely for me.   I had to do a factory reset several times before it would work again.  Your problem could also be a firmware issue.  Unfortunately, if your screen is blank, it will be difficult to do a factory reset.   You can try to do a restart.  Hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously.   Another option might be to pull the battery.

Yes, I hope the next firmware update fixes this. It's most annoying.

Did you happen to email iBasso and ask them about the 24/192 clicking problem?

I held off buying the DX50, and then I ordered it once I thought all the source media bit rate issues had been solved.  Seems I may have been a bit premature in deciding to purchase the player.

I'm waiting for my dx50, Ibasso will send it this monday.
I want to know if it supports cue files too.
Thanks.

I dont think it does... I tried with two albums on x3 and dx50... the cue files can be processed by x3 but not on dx50....
