The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 514

Maybe iBasso could add alphabets to the scroll bar so that you can immediately search for songs/albums starting with the corresponding letter the scroll bar is at. I think it'll make searching for songs a lot easier IMO.

The combination of the Foxtex 900, Fi.Q, and DX50, as the Fostex are finally settling in (they take a long burn in), is excellent. Beautiful tone, well controlled and not too much bass and very dimensional and transparent. Great fun.

Sorry if this is against thread rules or anything but I'm wondering: Mp4nation currently has a deal with the DX50 with a Brainwavz R3 for free going on, as i'm sure many of you know. Should I buy the DX50 direct from iBasso or is mp4nation a credible reseller for the DX50? How quick and hassle-free was the shipping? Does the word preorder on the product page mean exactly that, as in the product page was JUST for preordering the unit before release or...?

I would buy direct from iBasso but the next shipment is on the 10th and I leave for vacation on the 16th. I doubt that's enough time for the unit to make its way to my door. Also, i'm buying something else on mp4nation so I might as well kill two birds with one stone.

All the best,

Well I've bought mine from MP4 Nation and I didn't have any problem. Exactly 5 days from HK to Italy.

The R3 are a really worth gift, I actually use them also if I have the UE900 too,

Good to know, thanks a lot!. More experiences with mp4nation are welcome and wanted.

How long ago did you buy the DX50? I'd gift the R3 but they're just way too odd for the person I plan to gift them to. Maybe they'll replace my current portable, who knows.

All the best,

Mo4nation is good. But u can't sure u can get on next batch from mp4nation. Its all depend on how much stock ibasso sends to mp4nation.

Oh and if your unlucky like me, their returns process is pretty good. Just waiting for my replacement to arrive.

Their returns policy is NOT pretty good. After the adventure I had with the second replacement unit I emailed iBasso indicating I was returning the DX50 for a full refund and dropped the player off in the mail the next day. At the time iBasso indicated it wouldn't be a problem. The next day I noticed an exception in tracking info and called Canada Post to find out the package was being held and wouldn't be delivered due to it having a battery, Canada Post no longer handles packages containing rechargeable batteries. I picked up the package and emailed iBasso indicating what had happened and told them I would send the DX50 via a private courier within the next couple of days. The next day I received an email from the clown at iBasso customer support indicating that I was now past their return policy time and a refund would no longer be issued. Long story short, after a series of irate emails back and forth iBasso refused to refund me and I ended up calling their organization a collage of 3rd rate shoemakers and their boss a reject from the Triade. I'm NEVER buying anything form iBasso again. Buy at your own risk people.

MP4Nation handled my order very nicely.  I had to wait until they had stock of course.  Shipping was less than 48 hours from Hong Kong to the States.  Everything arrived in perfect condition.

why not just send it for repair and if they decide your player is defective they will send you a new one or repaired unit. i know what you talking about but refund policies can hugely differ outside your country, in Europe not many companies would do full refund unless within one month period.

With all due respect your experience has up till now not been mine. They requested I didn't return the battery and dispatched a replacement player once I'd provided a scan of the postal receipt. I've returned faulty items in the UK to well regarded companies, that have refused to issue a replacement till they have spent up to 2 weeks testing them. So far I personally have been pleasantly surprised by their customer service.

I received the silicone case I ordered from iBasso, and it fits perfectly, as to be expected. I'm trying to get photos, but it's very difficult to take pictures of jet black items. Even so, at the moment, while waiting for an official/licensed leather case to be available in Europe/US, the case does exactly what it needs to do. For $8, it's pretty much perfect.

Thanks for your input and concern but I've already sent a DX50 in once for refund. The second one sent to me was even more problematic then the first. I've since moved on to the AK120 due to all the card scanning and player lock up problems I was experiencing and what I now want is a refund not an exchange. I'm tired of all the back and forth with iBasso and just want to be free of the problems I've experienced. When I originally asked for the refund I asked if I should pull the battery like I did when I sent in my original unit for refund and they indicated not to bother and send the unit back whole. I now highly doubt that after all that's been said between me and iBasso they ever will agree to refund me. As it is, I've grown quite tired of them and their refund/exchange practices as well as wasting evening after evening trying to troubleshoot a player that refuses to completely scan my card or even run 90 minutes before locking up and forcing me to restart it. I'm now stuck with a 240 dollar paper weight because of all this. Live and learn I guess. Originally I wasn't going to say anything and I've kept an eye on this thread only in order to keep tabs on a new FW update that hopefully will solve my card scanning/player freezing problems. I only voiced my experience so others know what can happen. In hindsight, I should have never bought the DX50. All I'm trying to say with my last post and this post is if you have any troubles with your DX50 don't waste any time trying to troubleshoot it but instead send it back immediately.

Carry on friends, don't mind me and my bad luck. Maybe down the road a future FW update will fix my card scanning and player lock up problems. Crazier things have happened after all.

mate, sad to hear. what i recommend, please load FW patch update again, put in the root, do update, then reset DAP to factory settings and Then, i repeat, Then you should connect it to pc and remove FW update patch manually as recommended by iBasso. i am not sure all people did this and leaving patch undeleted can be causing problems. i do not want tell what to do and may be you did this, but if not then take a last try before throwing dx50 out.

I think I have been pretty lucky with my DX50. I am still running firmware v1.2.2 and have no desire to update. Using a 64gb Sandisk card that scans and works flawlessly.

I am sitting here with my KEF M500's, DX on mid-gain, volume at 187 and listening to Boards of Canda, The Campfire Headphase.

Really, couldn't be happier, this is just an excellent little unit.

Happy, happy man here.
