I've discovered a huge problem with the DX50. Its affected by static electricity in a ridiculous way. When its in the  pocket of my suit dress pants (made of cotton), it moves around a bit when I walk, this causes static from the cotton of my pant pocket rubbing against the DX50. The result? The DX50 completely *****s up, sometimes one channel of sound turns of and need to restart the player to fix, sometimes both channels cut out and need to hard restart the player, this also can happen:

The DX50 has a serious design flaw, and can't be used even when walking around, let alone running,  if it is loose in your pocket and your pocket material is susceptible to static. I tested it multiple times, walking around with the player in my hand its fine, the I drop it in my pocket and within 30 seconds the sound cuts out and will only fix if the player is restarted. This issue has severely affected my like of the DX50. I even tryed taking the DX50 to the gym, and even in my gym shorts when I move around the same issue occurs, IT IS UNUSABLE FFS! i'm pretty pissed of right now.

wowzers. That's bad

That's pretty damn serious! I mostly use mine at the desk, but carrying it around in my pocket haven't caused any problems to me yet.

Just had to to a battery pull for the first time. Going to shut down the player and the touchscreen decided to call the quits ahead of time. All physical buttons were still doing fine, but no touch input. Battery pull, start back up and we're in business.

Are you sure that's not just a hardware failure unique to yours? Mine failed and it looked pretty similar.... My replacement due tomorrow.

Never had this static electricity problem. My DX50 is always on my pants pocket most of the time. Even tried it with materials made of synthetics ( aside from cotton, linen ) but still working fine.

Well, it only occurs with static electricity, so I dunno. Only happens if the DX50 is in a pocket while I'm moving, doesnt happen if I'm holding the DX50, or in my pocket while not moving. Can anyone else chime in about this issue? Is my DX50 faulty in some way? should I RMA? The thing is, I don't think my DX50 is faulty, I think they all must be like this, how could mine be the only one affected by it, deosn't make sense.

That won't work, mp4 nation took a month to ship my DX50, I also asked about compensatory iem's, no deal :P Its not their fault anyway, iBasso can only ship out so many DX50's, mp4nation is only distributing them for very cheap and throwing in the R3 is already a good deal.

You may want to use grounding strip to ground the ESD charges.

A flawless solution while running or working out!

I'm afraid you won't catch me wearing that just because the DX50 is designed badly, If I don't find some solution to this I will send the player back for a refund.

I do think that there's a good chance that yours is faulty - and the nature of the fault is display hardware, exacerbated by usage pattern. The fact that no one else has reported issues with static and that the screen is failing in a similar diagonal way to mine highlights the high probability that it is hardware failure.

It only took a few hours for mine to go from first signs to complete failure, so maybe your position will be clearer soon. If that is the case, Ibasso were very efficient and courteous when it came to organising the replacement.

that never happened to me. I use it mainly on move in my jeans/jacket pocket (one of those is like a ******* electrostatic generator - even pulling my DX50 out of its pocket sometimes triggers a discharge that could easily knock out a little insect :D ) and it held up nicely. maybe yours is defective?
