The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 358

Well for one you should be able to have the player work with clean tags for the most part without having all sorts of bumps here and there. I can understand where he is coming from. While I am not a music, album, artists function user I know many others are and that should be a viable option on any basic player to be honest. Maybe DigitalFreak doesn't like organizing all his files in folders and using the folder view to access his music? Can't get upset at him for that. What he is upset about is when he posts his issues then you have 3 or more chiming in to discredit him which of course should piss anyone off. Think about it. This is his second unit just back from RMA and by simply updating the firmware he is having a ton of issues. That isn't a very good user experience.

I agree ibasso does offer a lot of support (although that support is really from rock chip). Thus for all these issues because rock chip is mediocre at best in providing proper firmware solutions, yet they want to completely control the rights so no one could ever make the product what it should be. At the end of the day I waited about a year for them to fix the issues on the DX100 and even til this day it isn't without its quirks regarding the UI. So I passed on them and never looked back.

It has really grown on me after the latest update.  I understand why folks are starting to sell their highprice DAPs in favor of the DX50 now.  The DX50 + really good portable amps will approach the DX-100 level.  Currently, I'm very pleased with the DX-50 > Pico Power > JH13 pro.  I can't wait until the Sony NW-ZX1 to land.

This morning, I was contemplating about selling 901 while listening to DX50 + amp on the way to work....

It has simple interface, and I play all the music files by browsing the album folders in the directory. I organize them folder by folder, as how I archive my music in my PC. The player plays all day long, I'm burning it in day by day, non stop, it never stops playing even for once, it just plays hours after hours. It just work for me with my listening preference. Seriously, I've yet find a devastating bug from the player.

It works for you, great. But the issue here is the features made available are suppose to work as they should and as people expected. If folder browsing is fine for you good, nobody is disagreeing. But database/album browsing should work the same way because it's include as a feature.

People have different ways of doing the same thing. If it's different from yours does not make it any better nor worst than others. Denying existing bug/issues just because you are not affected is just plain wrong to me . Look we all just want to make this play as good as it should be.

I just got a loaner Meier Quickstep for evaluation today. Holy hell this is good! And when I don't want to carry a big lump of sound, I just take the DX50 with me on its own. The headphone out is good enough for portable use and with an external amp it's great for desktop use. Win/win.

I just noticed something on 1.2.2: When using All Music and random play, the DX50 will play half a second of a completely different track before jumping to the next - but only if gapless is enabled.

Mine wont play albums straight through anymore. Most of the time it plays one sons then stops. I then try that off the sd card file in the player and it will play the album straight through. Anyone else having this problem. It was annoying ion my flight back from Denver after the  RMAF.

So not only do we have people moaning and bitching about the dx50 on a thread titled `dx50 appreciation`, we now have someone questioning the entire purpose of Head-fi.org......

Seriously people, stay on freakin` topic !

Sorry for the spam, but I'm selling the C5 that's in the above picture.

It's quite the improvement over the DX50's HO, but it's too bulky for me, and the synergy with my cIEM isn't too great.

I can vouch for the Quickstep being awesome with the DX50: http://www.head-fi.org/t/687288/so-im-looking-for-that-perfect-amp/135#post_9932234

I've already told Ibasso in V1. so far it has not changed.
