Not sure what DX50's like on the most recent firmware, but the firmware I was on before selling it was still definitely a bit.... "how you going"

For SQ vs price alone ONLY, 50 is an awesome product. I agree 100%.

But taking into account all aspect as a consumer product, oohh well.............. i had to email iBasso what is the correct way to turn on the product and the reply was

"You can press and hold the power button for about 4seconds to power on the DX50."

After i got the reply from iBasso, i was asking myself. Seriously? Need to email the support to ask how to turn on the product? So, i am going to count 1, 2, 3, 4.......... done. Anything shorter will not turn it on. Anything longer will result in other behavior. eehh.................

awesome product!!!

Puts on flame suit:

People who don't organize their files in folders should stick with iPods. Database scanning always causes problems - even in Rockbox. That's why Apple synchs - so it can process on a computer.

Directory browsing on the DX50 is flawless except for its insistence on scanning each new folder the first time. iBasso, please, I'm not using the database so spare me the delays.

fyi, i am one of those who organize everything into folders, never bother to search by album, artist or anything along that line. Not an apple fan at all. Rockbox Clip+ is working perfect for my collection in my 64GB micro sd card, but DX50 is not playing nice with it. My main issues now are mainly with single APE/FLAC file for entire album which need CUE file for it to work.

after all these complaints people keep buying this product? your blind quest for SQ baffles me.

I was willing to buy it two weeks ago but coming to this thread convinced me not to get it, I am not saying is bad product sound wise but come on when I listen to music I want to relax instead of wanting to smash to the floor my music player because it sucks.

Bahhh, I see the fire brigade is out on the thread again, an they're the same usual suspects. I'm outta here......

I'm returning this thing an if iBasso won't take it back I'm just gonna have some fun and take a hammer to it. Enjoy your crappy overpriced and unstable Mp3 player fan boys. I've learned my lesson. I'm never listening to the herd again.

i am not a fanboy to ibasso nor fiio..i own both dap andi am loving it...

yes..they do have imperfect design..but you get what you pay for....else you can go to get the AK100 or 120...or even ipod or sony....

if you hammer your dx50..do take a video for us to enjoy....we can treat it as a hammer resistant test :D

My comment wasn't actually directed at you, DF. It's a pet peeve of mine going back ages. The Rockbox thread is full of people with database issues. Organize your files, dudes and dudettes! ;-)

I, for one, really like this little DAP. Is it perfect? Nope. it sounds great but has a few quirks. Is the iPod perfect? Nope. It's a joy to use but the sound sure could be better.

I'm only seeing the aggressiveness from you but not many others? You said I was trolling in some previous posts just because I said I'm completely happy with the player? Sounded like you have been having some disasters with your DX50? Go fix it, or if you are not able to, it does not mean everyone got to think or do like you as what you think the player sucks? So do you expect everyone leave this post and just assume this player sucks and that's the end of the day and so to this thread? It must be with some serious problem from you with the way you use the player? I've been using it just as how I use to listen to music with my other players by browsing music with the directory. It might have some serous issue with the tags, but I've never bother to make good use with tags. But from the directory, all my songs were completely fine with tags. I'm having great experience with the player, as I've said again, it is not completely stable but it is completely usable to me and many many others. My DX50 has been playing all day, every day (for burning in purpose), nom stop, it just goes on unless the battery died.

If you have great problem with the player it does not mean you have a right to throw your temper here and bash everyone and blame everyone of leading you getting this SUCKS player?

The player is not completely stable, but it works perfectly for me. What is seriously wrong with the player really? It has simple interface, and I play all the music files by browsing the album folders in the directory. I organize them folder by folder, as how I archive my music in my PC. The player plays all day long, I'm burning it in day by day, non stop, it never stops playing even for once, it just plays hours after hours. It just work for me with my listening preference. Seriously, I've yet find a devastating bug from the player.

I 2nd that. Hope no one else would say that I'm trolling again
