The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 31

got one track that is being very stubborn.  Renamed the track and changed the tag but still not showing in album or artist mode although it is playable from directory mode.  Will not play as part of the album though from directory, I have to select the track on its own.  However at least all the other tracks are now working as they should.  Hopefully this will be fixed in a firmware from ibasso.

I think the firmware engineer can easily fixed this.

Lets just wait for the next firmware update.:L3000:

Besides,  the scanning time seems reduce a little bit after that bug fix.

Maybe error loop slow down the scanning process

I'm thinking of buying the DX50 here: http://www.mp4audio.de/index.php/digital-audio-player/ibasso-audio/ibasso-dx-50-referenz-audio-player-mit-wolfson-wm8740-dac.html

I'm from europe, so I'm not sure if buying from the ibasso website (from japan?) is going to be any bit faster or cheaper.

But, is it possible that the stores already this player in stock? Since there were some problems with the distribution of the player.

I bought directly from Ibasso. 49 hours from Hong Kong to Germany and to even cheaper.

I posted a temporary workaround for the apostrophe problem here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/680472/dx50-bug-list-wish-list-fix/45#post_9784179

Hopefully it will get fixed in the next update, but for now, replacing ' with ` seems to do the job.

Are there any other special characters that are causing this issue, like dashes dots etc...?

I am just going to wait for a FW fix on the apostrophe.

No wonder Girls' Generation wouldn't play and get recognized at all!!!

Cheers guys:beerchug:

How about Gov't Mule or Umphrey's McGee? ;)

é doesn't display in the 'Now Playing' screen, unless it is glitched like mine. Mötley Crüe works fine though. Dashes/Hypens, dots, commas, brackets and square brackets all work. Exclamation marks work for me, not sure about Question marks though. Just seems to be files with apostrophes in the tags and filenames which cause problems.

I'm sorely tempted by this device, but I'm uncertain whether I'd notice an appreciable difference from my current DAP (Cowon D2).

Can any owners of both offer a comparison with the D2?, I'd much appreciate it.

I confess that the only portable gear I own (outside of stock DAP's) is the original Fiio E3!, and that kind of put me off getting any further gear to 'stack' as I couldn't hear any improvement at all with any of my DAP's or headphones ( mostly b/a iems ).

My current favourite (by a loooong way) earphones are a pair of re-shelled UE TF10's with added dynamic driver which sound great on the desktop rig, out of my D2 and even from my Moto Defy phone!

Any DX50/D2 owners out there?

Hi!
I ordered mine from MP4Audio and they told me that the units they are selling have been shipped on Thursday. I mean, iBasso send out the units they are selling on Thursday.
Broken English ftw.
I ordered at MP4Audio because that gives me an additional year of warranty...always nice if you ask me. Was a bit more expensive though.
I think I'll get my DX50 this week.

iBasso is neither Japanese nor from HongKong but from mainlaind China and orders from their site will usually be the cheapest and they ship anywhere and quite promptly. Unless a specific retailer currently has stock and you want it right away, order from iBasso directly.

Thanks that's good news, although bothersome it's not too bad.

Let me just tell you a short story about Dutch customs: They are my arch enemy, the end.

Trust me, they usually hold on to a package for about a month, and they will add about 40% to the price :$

I got lucky once, with a package from North Korea, and it was here within a week strangely enough. Still had to pay about €90 additional on a $220 package.

Thanks! Now, will this store also have to wait on the slow customs? Like, when will they have this player in stock, this week, or more like next month?

I also sent them an email, but I guess I will just buy it from them anyway. The extra warranty is really nice.

It certainly is expensive, but considering the import taxes customs give me, it's about the same price. From what country are you, if I may ask? :D
