The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 296

My DX50 hasn't arrived yet but just a thought... When people say that a certain card isn't working, do they mean browsing folders or using the database? Databases are often problematic with their scanning requirements. Browsing folders should work I assume with most cards and either formatting.

I have a 128 GB FAT32 SDXC card with all my music which I will use with the DX50 and the Sintech adaptor. Everything is in Genre/Artist/Album folders. I am guessing that directory browsing will work fine. I'll report back.

if the OTG cable doesn't work, do you have another one that you can try?

Unfortunately i dont have spare otg cable.. Do you think the problem is on the cable not on the device?

Plug it in a computer first. Try to reformat it if you have to. You don't want to send the device back if the problem is the otg cable.

that is a possibility. because of your inquiry, i tried hooking up my 4gb flash drive formatted to fat32 - it's my first time hooking up my otg module to my dx50 - everything works

i'm really guessing it's your cable that's the culprit. the usb port works because you can charge the device, so it's not the dx50's fault ;)

By any chance is there a case for this DAP yet? I just ordered one and would like to keep it in good shape

I'm glad your otg works smoothly.. Maybe its time to buy a new otg cable..

better go back to cdrking (saw you in our local site) and have the cable replaced. bring with you a flash drive so that you can check the new cable while you're in the store.

I would try a few more devices before doing that. My OTG cable works fine, but some external HDDs work, and some don't. For an actual hdd, I have found that if the drive gets its power from USB, then it just doesn't work. My drive light will come on as if it's working, but I don't think the DX50 actually provides enough power. I have a jump drive that works, but an SD card in a reader doesn't.

In other words, some sources will work, and some won't.

I'm pretty damn happy that the freak idea I conjured would turn out to be such a success. Bugs aside (Seing as they're all pretty damn minor, imho) it seems that Ibasso has a MASSIVE hit on their hands.

Mine did the volume thing only once, turning the volume all the way down. This was on 1.1.6 and it actually happened while a coworker was using it.

Ibasso is reportedly working on a case. Looking forward to it, even though I'm considering wrapping mine in faux carbon or something like that.

Btw: I find the file sorting bug to be the only really annoying bug left (for my uses) and Ibasso is hard at work on it, might even have it fixed in the next firmware update :)

when i got my dx50, i used it stand alone for 1 week, i did this intentionally so that i can make my hearing accustomed to it. after connecting it to my amp, it really made a lot of difference. i'm not saying that you should immediately get an amp - i would still strongly suggest that you try to audition amps with your existing setup. the dx50 might already be properly driving your b2 - then getting an amp is just a waste of money.
