Has anyone managed to improve the SQ significantly of DX50 by bypassing its internal DAC/AMP with external DAC/AMP? Basically to make DX50 as a Transport.

Dac / Amp : iBasso D 12 mod with HiFlight kits
Iem : Earsonic S EM6
Cable : Venture Craft Coax RCA to RCA , use JVC adapter RCA to mini

SQ : the improvement is excellent , like DX 50 born for D12 , D12 has the best synergy with DX 50
More balance SQ , high more extended and detail .
Mid more clear and clean , bass more body and impact
Overall better pronounce , I hear piano more body

With D12 you have more function through the coax in connect to your DX 50 coax out .
With Arrow 4 G you can use line out and hp out

From my home audio the coax out is better than optical line out .

I feel this 5th batch sound warm side rather than muddy.  However, this is just out of the box.  I need to let it play for awhile.

Ha! You did indeed D...the T1 sounds insane with all three actually. When I put the T1 with the DX100 it raises the bar again. So...the 100 still rules the roost so to speak...

The order remains the same...

DX100
RWAK100
DX50

However, I am seriously considering selling the RWAK100 now and using the DX50/T1 combo for work. If I get one of those Meenova's the DX50 can hold just as much music as the RWAK100. The T1 brings the DX50 on par with the base DX100 and sounds better than the base RWAK100.

ah mate, congrats, so you a believer now like me? yes, T1 shocked me considering its very modest price, one of the best value for money gear purchases i made.

about DX50 bugs and freezes, i wonder if buyng DX50 you risk becoming to iBasso what guinea pigs are to scientists? reading through all reported problem pains especially when sound quality reportedly so good.

Iem : Earsonic. SEM 6

IBasso D12 win again Headstage Arrow 4 G pair with Earsonic SEM 6

High :
Arrow 4 G :
high : slightly breiter
Mid : more forward , clear and clean
Bass : very good bass impact , faster speed than D12
Separation : on par
Soundstage : D12 has wider soundstage than Arrow 4 G

D 12 with HiFligt mod
High : is enough and very good detail
Mid : more analog than 4 G , not as forward as my 4 G
Bass : very good bass impact , bass speed a bit slower , but is more natural
Separation : on par
Soundstage : D12 has wider soundstage than arrow 4 G

D12 is slightly warmer and analog SQ than arrow 4 G
