What I am asserting and from my experience with a 64gb Sandisk card, is that if you want a one time scan that yields all your albums and not requiring multiple scans and ad hoc scans, reducing the filename length will solve this. With the protocol of 30 characters, my DX50 scans properly and completely every time. Introduce just one delinquent filename, and it won't scan thoroughly. Because about 1000 of my tracks were classical and extremely long, it was worth my while to do this because I simply could not get my albums to appear even after many scans, most of which didn't yield any new albums. If they ever fix this at iBasso, it won't take long to rename them with MP3Tag so its no big deal IMHO.

I choose my playlists from Album view mostly, but even in Directory view, 30 characters is adequate to identify tracks.

I followed a similar procedure with my classical FLAC collection using mp3tag. I stripped all tags and reduced file names to 40 characters. No problems after that. I'm using Sandisk 64GB cards (ExFat format) and use Album view to access files.

Really? iBasso replied saying they will look into it. When/where did they say its not possible?

i think some of these features are quite... basic and simple. WISH list. =)

No. If your scan is completing fully, you should not see the scan screen at all. Mine only comes up when I add a new file or swap out the SD card.

ah i see. I just picked up a 64gb microsd, will see if this happens. thanks for letting me know.

What they told me was they will consider it. Thing is, if we just send them a list of feature that "I want" without any reason, they probably wont give much weight to it. But if we substantiate our claim of WHY we want it, that will make them think a little more. For the USB DAC function, I am contrasting it to Fiio X3's USB DAC implementation that is promised by James and to certain quarters, it does make X3 a lot more interesting and higher value to DX50.

Yeah, so its not physically impossible, they just haven't implemented it. I sent them an email saying FiiO's X3 will support it, and they also said they will look into it as well. So still on the wish list.

But I agree, there needs to be a reason, rather than just a bunch of 'i wants'. But to me, I feel like these features are fairly simple, and most basic players have the feature. It will give the UI the much needed boost, and where to focus their efforts. Thats my goal.

Nope, not the same card. I use a standard USB 2 flashmemory stick for OTG. Realized that when I get home I will try and run my card via a reader and see if the same problem occurs over OTG. that would be a clear indication that something is up with the ID3 tags. Still, I followed another helpful guys tips and rechecked my ID3 tags, and nothing really amiss there.

After discussions with iBasso they too point towards the MicroSD card as the proposedly evil thing in the machinery here. I hope they are right and that I can get a new card.

Also realized that I have a Sandisk 64 GB card, that several others have pointed out having trouble with - perhaps just because they are so normal perhaps?.

Thanks for pointing this out, will check and see if this is helpful :)

if you use something like dbpoweramp to rip you'll be able to edit idtags inc artwork via the windows context menu

If anything, the DX100 should've had it first but noooope. :| Might have to start spamming them. USB dac would be make the DX50 like godtier...

That's one feature to my eyes that would put it right on top of affordable and versatile players, not that it isn't already.

Hi, your wish list is very well, but so much people are asking for a searching-function! Can you add this point? Working with 64/128(and soon more) GB cards and hunderts or thousands of files without a search-function is in my opinion simply stupid and not up-to-date. Did they actually say, adding it in any newer firmware (did didnt found any posts on this)? Same thing with a scollbar, but it's still on the wishlist....

many thanks, one of many i-buy-it-only-with-search-function-users ;-P

Wish list:

- USB DAC

- Scrolling Title

- Auto+manual scan for new folders

- Option for screen on for every button press (can turn off)

- Lock switch still shows home screen, a tiny lock icon will suffice.

- Playlist feature working for albums/artist/etc. not just all music

- album art showing everywhere

- battery %, not that important, but nice to have

- scroll bar when browsing for music, and even fast scrolling using scroll bar

- Line out output should be always maximum, not volume controlled

Bug list:

- Media scanning doesn’t work all the time

- when shuffling “all music”, pressing back shuffles the song, not the previously played song.

Hi, my songs (in the albums) are all out of sequence like 05- before 01- etc. is this down to incorrect tagging?

No, it is probably the order in which your tracks were copied to your micro sd card.

I am waiting for this to be fixed in a firmware update - would like tracks to be shown in track order if the tack ID3 tag is filled.

I believe you can download free software to copy files in order to your card - check through the last few pages of this thread where it is discussed.

it's an annoying bug tracing back to Rockchip - Files are listed and played in the order that they were transfered, not in alphabetical/numerical order. Using CopyInOrder (free) will work around this issue by copying files in alphabetical order.

Is this something iBasso can fix through firmware, I am asking because you are pointing to Rockchip?
