I emailed ibasso and they said that batch 5 will have the v1.2.0 on it which was why I was holding out as long as I could. Just have to wait 2 more weeks.

And by then a new update will probably be out and you'll have to update anyway.:D

its just firmware updates, no hardware changes (that i'm aware of). you can always just update the firmware yourself.

I've just finished my review on the DX50, it will go live on Headfonics hopefully soon.  It is a great player and I was lucky enough to have only a few issues after the first update.

Here are some HiRes Snaps.  Enjoy.

ok cheers so in terms of badness, the only harm caused by deleting it is the time it will take to re-build it? that makes me feel better. i guess any new firmware would wipe it out anyway and it just re-populates as needed?

ok so went into recovery mode and selected 'wipe data/factory resst'. it put the dx50 back to 'new out of box' state. upon rebbot, the '.album.img' is there but completely empty. so yes looks just like a cache folder and deleting does no harm

That was my top request including adding separate volume controls for LO and HO. I don't update my library that often and a manual one would be so useful. Please don't forget to email them about it.

I guess that allows them to speed up things so more when referencing those images.

Haha, I have a pretty big list on what they should implement, most of them fairly simple and straightward, but we'll see if iBasso will listen. Probably firing them an email after i'm done reviewing it. been listening to it all day at work today.

If more people request those changes, they are more likely to provide them. Not a guarantee but if you don't ask it's pretty safe to say you don't get. Thanks for making the effort. smily_headphones1.gif

Hi all, anyone actually finding amping beneficial at all, if so what's working, I'm finding the arrow 4g shallower and duller than the dx50 on its own to my HE400's, have I just made my amp redundant?

Time to pick up an iTouch to join with the Arrow. They were made to be together.

It depends if you are going to use iems or headphones. For example my iems sound amazing with the Pico Slim and my headphones with the Intruder, then for a desktop like setup I like to use the D12 in coax mode. If you need as portable as possible the Pico Slim definitively does not add much to the stack. However if you are looking for an amp for all phones then the Intruder fits the bill. Amping is pretty flexible, as long as you shoot for quality amp you should have quite a choice. smily_headphones1.gif

Yeah probably, I've had my Fiio X3 for awhile and still have the original os.

hmm, I just noticed the line out seems to have a jack sensor, it auto plays when I plug it in, and auto pauses when I unplug, but doesn't seem to work on the headphone out. Is it just me? seems more useful it if sensed on the headphone out, not line out.

I'm happy with the dx50 and iem's or yamaha pro 500's for portable, looking to amp to my HE400's at home so size not really a problem, pb2 anyone? I loved my ipod 5g and arrow combo but the dx50 is a step up on its own, do my HE400 just not need it? Sorry if this all sounds a bit noobie, cheers.
