Choose the wipe/boot option and restart. Make sure you eject the MicroSD card before you do or risk formatting it as well. You may need to re-copy the FW image file again. But don't be surprised if the new FW is installed and it just needed the reset.

The wipe date/factory reset only clear the internal storage, and firmware is not removed but simply reset/initialized.

Yes if you use the HO you'll be double amping which can result in clipping/distortion. The LO bypasses the amp stage.

i too agree. I had a FiiO E17 just prior to the DX50, and I definitely had to pull back the bass and boost the treble a bit to have a more neutral sound.

on another note, whenever i add music, and even with I click scan, none of my albums update. I have to manually go into directory and find them before it actually 'scans' it and goes into the database. anyone else encountering this problem? i have a 16gb microsd formatted into exFAT and fw 1.2.0 if that helps.

I have had the same problem with my 64 GB card, hence my massive amount of posts lately trying to find a solution. I came home and found that the latest scan I did had completed - finally! But not with FLAC that I wished to use but with wav files. Something isn't right still here with the scan and I hope that future firmwares will improve on this.

255 for the LO, which bypasses the amp.

Edit: Vidmaven, you beat me to it smily_headphones1.gif

ah interesting. i certainly hope they fix this scanning issue in future firmwares. also does it always pop up to ask you to scan everytime you turn it on? they should implement a 'scan now' button, so you can scan when you need it, or scan in bg when it detects changes.

No it flashes the scan or browse screen then usually scans for a second then you're good to go. I think it checks for changes everytime you turn it on.

yeah mine flashes the scan/browse screen, then scans for a second, and returns back to the scan/browse screen. if i click scan, it scans for a second AGAIN, and then goes to the home screen.

Once it scans the first time by itself you should hit browse which then gets you to your list of choices. Scroll down to album, artist and choose accordingly.

Hi,
I have recieved the 4th batch DX50 and it sounds great from the box.
Aside software issues, which I know you will fix in the future,  Iv'e having a problem when playing 24bit files: on "quiet" parts ( let's say, the into of Jeremy of Pearl Jam or Jazz tracks) you can hear a hiss sound ( white noise ) which is very noticeable.
Are you aware of that issue?

Hi,
Is your firmware the V1.1.6?
Please try the V1.2.0
http://www.ibasso.com/download/DX50Firmware_V1.2.0.zip

i will check when i get home.. hope it will fix the issue.

I still get the background hiss on v1.2 with the same set of IEM. Was slightly less but still there. Might be because my listening environment was noisier when I was listening.

Ah hells below - seems that it might be my card that is the issue, both hopefully and annoying. Wav files worked but every third or fourth song yielded a freeze that needed a hard restart :S

Man, it is no easy journey with so many componants that can go wrong. Well, it is time to try and get a new Micro SD card and see if that helps.

Still, playing folder by OTG works like a charm , so something has to be right as well!

Thank you very much for the info. Didn't know that (-:

it doesn't mean the signal isn't "too strong" for a particular amp and it will still clip. at least that is what I think might be the case with something like Fiio E6 ( not that anyone would use that pairing :D )

is that just an issue with .flac filenames or does the 30 character limit apply across the board? i have .mp3 files with +30 characters that do eventually show up. takes a scan or two to do it though
