Thanks for sharing, that is more or less the same setup I have tried to use. I haven't cleaned the filenames or tags. I have the tags from my program and checked them with ID3tagger. Have the exact same folder straucture.

I also have left internal for player specifics as well.

Sadly, it haven'e worked out for me that well so far. Do you have embedded cover in the flac files or do you use folder jpg as cover?

So depending on the severity of the next rant you will either close temporarily or permanently? Makes me wanna test out my psychotic rant skills to see which award I get :P

I got a bit of both in an attempt to try it out, I used MediaMonkey to embed them. The album features seem to work well because I can see the cover icons.

What behaviors do you have that don't seem to work well for you? Sorry if you already posted it.

This might just be a figment of my imagination and a sign that I should stop working for today... But does this player sound better on high gain than it does on low gain?

Using +35ohm ciems and matching the volume (187 on low gain, 167 on high) I think I found the soundstage improving, becoming more DX100-like on High Gain. Am I just imagining things?

I think it is also iem dependent. I find myself liking mid gain best for the jh13pro/tg334, low gain for the 1plus2, high gain for the re600, asg2... or I am also imagining things lol!

No problem :)

The player doesn't finish scans most of the time. It stops after some hours, and then it has scanned something close to 30%. I go in and check all music and album, and I get 30%. i have tried to go via folder view and the play first song initiates a quick scan and then the album is in the other two categories. sometimes when trying to play a file from folder view (that is not previously scanned or simply was left out it just hangs in the scan mode). I can still press the scanning text and it highlights briefly as if everything is OK, but the scan doesn't end. I have tried to leave it over night - to no avail.)

I also have had some scans give different results with artist and album ending up as "Null" in the scan result.

So as far as I have tried - I haven't been able to fullfill one thorough scan yet, and that makes it difficult to play anything, espacially since I had joped that simply to play via folder view would work - but the forced start of a scan hangs pretty often. After a force restart - the hanged scan can still have worked and sometimes the album appears and other times it doesn't.

This has so far been a no-problem when using the player via OTG - but that isn't what I bought the dx50 for ;)

I hope to find another MicroSD card, but they are rather expansive to simply tryout one by one, but if that is the issue - then at least I woul be on to something new to try. My latest try is to only use wav files and see how that goes.

Sorensiim, yups, I feel it too, spend few days with my er4p & EM5813, on high gain both more refine and better sound stage. I'm not sure before because my friend told me that IEM was better on low gain.

i have found if ripping with itunes, embedded cover art does not seem to show up. editing out any 'comments' tags itunes has put in a file seemed to help.

OH MY GOD sorry I asked lol. You certainly got a load of problems. First, I know for a fact it's no excuse if a dap does not behave according to standard dap features so at least I can get that out of the way but it seems you have way more problems than anyone would care to have. It might be storage related because it sounds like you can never achieve enough scanning to make it work for you. There might be some issues with your card note that I cannot remove the dap from
the equation but by your description it seems to point to the microSD card. You did try to reformat it in exFat correct by choosing the long format, not the quick? I can't speak for other micoSD cards but majority of SanDisk microSD card owners seem to have a better success rate. I really hope you can get through your issues.

Mines just arrived, to the UK, no custom fee's! I just need to wait for my CIEMS to arrive soon now...

Hmm. I was under the impression that the DX50 lacks bass, and is treble happy from reading the earlier posts while I was waiting for my DX. But now that I've received it, it certainly doesn't seem that way. I am on firmware 1.2.0 and using Shure SE425, which does have highs rolled off, and a more Shure signature mid-bass hump, so maybe that's what is balancing out the sound. But as I am used to the SE425 sound, I can definitely say it doesn't lack bass, and while it does have treble extension, it doesn't seem sibilant or harsh. Seems okay so far, will be listening at work today to maybe have a better review.

i'm using this card with my dx50. does it need to be exfat, fat32 or does it not matter at all? it is fat32 at the moment and also used in a fiio x3.

I think if anything it has slightly lower volume on the same setting on 1.1.6. I don't feel the sound signature actually changed.

i think the bass level is just about right. i find the fiio x3 a bit too bass heavy in comparison. pairing with sennheiser hd25-1 ii
