Still better than the garbage colorfly c3 ui which has zero updates now. As for sound changes I haven't heard the latest fw but I doubt it's night and day like some claim. Don't like the player go get something else.

Well aren't you lucky, not a single problem for your player, it just runs and runs without a hitch? Hmmm ok.

Are you sure you've even taken yours out of the box?

We have a bug thread with over 45 pages of issues, but you TekeRugburn have been blessed without a single problem......

As for updating firmware please don't question my intelligence I follow the instructions just as everyone does, who again report issues updating in the bug thread constantly.

V 1.2.0 more stable than V 1.1.6, mine never hang or buggy, faster than before, no volume issues,
The sound is no problem for me, feel more detailed than earlier firmware.
So far just a problem with "smooth hiss" if I used my Fitear 111 (while not playing music).

H20, I've actually not encountered many issues like the crazy volume issue either. And I haven't had a problem updating yet.

I want to make it clear as my last post here for a while.

I'm not trying to put the player down, or stir up members. I've stated my player runs 90% of the time, and the last thing I want is to rain on the parade of enthusiastic users, that isn't my mission here. It's just I had more stability problems on v1.2 than ever before which felt I was taking a step backwards, they must of been for me to downgrade, and if there isn''t balance in this thread with constant praise for something that clearly isn't stable IMO. that isn't healthy for future buyers.

So please enjoy the thread because the last thing I want is to be a party pooper, or look like the guy who complains all the time. I just feel some things need to be vented to show the real user experience of DX50 owners. And that's all I was doing, sharing my real user experience.

Chill.  Your message is vastly more annoying than someone complaining about critical issues the player has.  Their statement is relevant to the DX-50 and this thread.  Yours is just a whiny statement about others whining.  And I guess mine is, too.  See what you have done! Now, it has become a vicious circle of complaining.  There is only one way to solve this problem.

I wrote a mail to iBasso regarding the hiss on 24bit files and they answered:

Hi,

I have recieved the 4th batch DX50 and it sounds great from the box.
Aside software issues, which I know you will fix in the future,  Iv'e having a problem when playing 24bit files: on "quiet" parts ( let's say, the into of Jeremy of Pearl Jam or Jazz tracks) you can hear a hiss sound ( white noise ) which is very noticeable.
Are you aware of that issue?

Hi,
Is your firmware the V1.1.6?
Please try the V1.2.0

i will check when i get home.. hope it will fix the issue.

I am not the one with the chill issues here and this was posted more than once so everyone got the message. Winning is not gonna get you anywhere, solutions will. Everyone cooperates to help solve issues and they are loads of great suggestions, nothing wrong with voicing your opinion but when you start complaining in more than one forum topics in bolded letters than it becomes annoying, that's all. Done over with. We can all move on.

Calm down.  Was I directly replying to you on every line?  Yeah I've taken mine out the box; the only thing that bugged me was the multiple albums created for each artist and not album artist.  Which they fixed for the most part.

The updating firmware comment was directed toward:

"What concerns me more so, is half these players iBasso have sold/shipped may never see an update, we can't grantuee everyone who bought one is following this thread, we can't be sure they're aware of updating firmware, what about those people, the ones who just live with a bugged out DX50 forever because they don't know any better nad iBasso sent them out."

No one is questioning your intelligence so calm down.  Like any Bell Curve....there will be some that has unlimited problems, some with no problems and the vast majority will have some problems.  Is it my fault I fall on the right side of the graph?

Not really to be honest I was reluctant when I got the DX50 and quite a few of you guys on the board put me straight in terms of fixing my dap issues and got great results with it. Can't be any happier but you got to exercise some of the solutions to get it to be stable. When it is it's a charm to use.

Only if you behave incensitive towards those that have many problems. ;) "Just" buying a new one isn't as much "just" as I would like. I still think that iBasso has a lot to prove. Also, I hear on these pages more regarding the firmware updates than on their site. They don't update their download that often and always a few weeks later and many users experiences severe bugs.

I'm glad to hear that you have a player that works, that gives me hope there will be a setup and firmware that will make mine good as well - at this moment it has been mostly crap with a few moments of great listening experiences. (And I do know how to update firmwares, use external SD format programs etc etc) so that isn't a guarantee to get things working correct - and even if it were - very few would really opt to buy it. If it is supposed to be the Raspberry Pi of DAP - they should say that instead of marking it as a High format Audiophile grade player.

That's all I'm saying :)

Was actually talking about this, but never mind.

Come on guys, take the bugs and stuff to the appropriate thread.

What is your setup? I have a sinking feeling that it may be large SD cards and FLAC that DX50 doesn't like...

I have a 64 Gb SD card and loads of Flac files but I did go through some file name and tag cleaning. I also kept the directories very simple with the artist at the root directory followed by albums.

I left the internal empty for the cache.

Chaps, if I read one more member-to-member bickering or a non-objective psychotic rant about of any kind I will close this thread either temporarily or permanently.
