It's just the v1.2 part.

I thought I saw the explanations for these several times in the thread already. First, the line out isn't affected by the gain setting while the phone out is. Second, it uses a digital volume control - not the same type as the Meier digital attenuators which uses an analog control and more importantly is mounted in the same part of the circuit that an analog pot would be in, but is somewhere way before that, so when it leaves the DAC the settings affects both the analog output and the amplifier after that. The key is that the amp and lineout are designed specifically to work with this kind of volume control so it's not necessarily the same as using Windows volume control instead of the knob on an amp.

They might address this on the firmware updates and have the software keep the settings independent of each other.

but that level might cause clipping with some amps, or am I wrong?

Am I the only one who's 24bit files on "quiet" parts ( let's say, the into of Jeremy of Pearl Jam or Jazz tracks) has a hiss ( white noise ) that is very noticeable? is there a plan on a fix from ibasso?

I have not experienced any clipping nor distortion so far.

few first insights and questions:

*I'm using the Beyer 770 pro 80.

*Latest version - DX50Firmware_V1.1.6

1. confirmed - I have a hiss on 24bit files and it can be heard on quiet music such as R.E.M's  New Orleans Instrumental No 1 (from Automatic....)

2. I copied my music straight into the main folder. what's the LOST.DIR and .album_img folders stands for?

i'd like to know this too please. i have asked already but this thread moves so fast no one has answered. i deleted the '.album_img' folder by mistake and it just comes back.

.album_img is for the album art right?

that makes sense as it just re-populated after i deleted it. anyone else confirm this please?

What's in the folder? Bear in mind I don't own the DX-50. From a computing standpoint it may be a cache folder for album art. Deleting shouldn't do any harm. But then it comes back... hehehe.

Your problem lies on the "/" (forward slash) in the song tag. The file scanner has issues with it.

BTW, this is the first post of a proud DX50 (4th batch) owner.

DX50 + Momentum Over Ear works fabulously!!
