regardless if you like it or not, a TRUE source is not supposed to influence the sound, in this case the DX50 is forcibly removing bass from earphones and this is NOT good. Saying that the DX50 has an output impedance of 3 ohms is being 'polite', remember that the graph shows that at 20hz the DX50 has an output impedance of 14 ohms, this is not acceptable of an audiophile player, and makes the DX50 difficult to like for bass heads, or people that actually like their source to have a nice flat frequency response...

well, it doesn't sound THAT bad. actually, it sounds pretty good with all of my bass-light phones...

Good point, but I have seen preparing the shipping papers and yet still no physical products, the courier got to pick up the goods from the manufacturer or warehouse.

This entire week is a public holiday for the Chinese National Day.

Have mailed DHL enquires twice in 2 days and got no response. Same with iBasso , again no response. Maybe a chinese holiday?

Either way very frustrated and annoyed that my DX is not going to get here as soon as I had hoped.

I really hate it when mails are ignored!!!

Sorry just had to vent

I had no issues with the bass too, even the lowest rumbles on my headphones. And initially the bass was too strong for my liking on my CIEMs. Now it's alright (:

Second really, what's one week in your audiophile life? I am from the first batch and had to wait longer because of casing issues. Besides those guys also need some rest, they have been hard at getting the dap ready and functional as soon as it was possible. I can say they've done a great job creating the dap. Have a good cup of coffee watch some movies and in no time your DX50 will be at the door waiting for you wink.gif

If you still wanna buy biggrin.gif

True.

I want physical buttons and it will be for portable ujse so although I know I don't need it, purchasing the DX50 does have some rationale behind it although I take your point.

Update, got htis from ibasso just now

Actually, your order was picked up on Sep 26th. I guess our courier changed the tracking number. They didnt inform us the new tracking number before went to their holiday.
I believe your DX50 is on the way to UK. You should receive it in 1~2 days.

Sincerely
iBasso Audio

So the mystery deepens or not as the case may be. Seems DHL were not correectwhen they told me that that the goods are with the supplier in China. My tracking number still shows that the item is in Hong Kong but I have just had an SMS from DHL telling me it will be delivered sometime today.

I have apologised to iBasso personally and now wish to do the same publically if this confusion has nothing to do with them.

I am awaiting a call back fro a DHL customer complaints offcer to explain how this happeend and why I was given incorrect information.

apologies for being a bit of drama queen.

For Tak: I have say prior to this I had always considered iBasso to be proffessional, helpful and customer oriented so I totally disagree with your , at first glance, sympathetic post.

I must applaud your private and public apology to iBasso in in today's "customers are always right" society. Hope the package will arrive soon and you can enjoy your new toy!

Well I am not really sure if we ever have had or will have an absolute universal reference sound to determine what is so called "added to" or "subtracted from" the music or any piece of gear. From the instrument the musician used, to our vocal cord, to the microphones and all processing equipment between the recorded performance to our ears there are million of combinations of different variables. Lol I m not at all worried about if I have a "true source", especially on a piece of $239 toy. So, it IS all about whether I like it or not for me. And same for every other person who listen to music I suppose. We can agree to disagree.

Cheers

so true lol.. or the famous line of "the way the artist/musician/etc. intended for the music to be heard". Really. =P put away your oscilloscopes and enjoy the music guys. there's a time for science, and there's a time for art.

back on topic: YAY DHL says its in Ontario now! made it around the world! Hopefully it delivers today!

Most businesses now have accounts with shippers and print labels with tracking numbers.   It basically means that they have a printed label with tracking number on it.   Your package might still be at ibasso, but they also use a courier service in some instances to carry the packages from the mainland to DHL in Hong Kong.  It might be with the courier on its way to DHL.

Unfortunately, businesses have exploited this practice to claim that something has been shipped without the package not actually being at the shipper.

This happened to me too.   I think though that the "courier" is not DHL, but a third party that picks up packages from ibasso and drops them off to DHL.   This is my understanding of how they are shipping their products.   I could be mistaken though.

I think you are right. It seems that the "courier" (not DHL)  changed the package number and did not cancel the old one or inform iBasso that they had done this.

Result is that the customer (me) had no knowledge of the shipment leaving Hong Kong and DHL confirmed the the shipment with the tracking number iBasso gave me is still shown in Hong Kong on their systems.

All sorted now, end of story...I hope
