Sounds scary, but a 16GB class 4 sandisk one seems to work perfectly with the DX50.

Of the 20+ Sandisk cards I've had (most of them being CF cards for my DSLRs), not a single one has ever done anything wrong, they've just kept ticking. Just be absolutely sure to buy from reputable, authorized dealers as there are A LOT of fakes out there...

I noticed any sound change, but I not sure it caused by firmware update or effect of burnin.
I feel its more detail now.

It works perfectly with my Sansa Clip+ rockboxed so I'm not sure what's up with the DX50.

I forgot which sector size windows pick, if I use anything but the default I get issues writing to the card that's why I asked.

I have a SanDisk and it works flawlessly, got it from Amazon, sold and packed by them.

Usually you don't need to fully format the card but maybe in your situation I would try formatting it full format not quick.

Also, make sure that your computer's OS did not change the ownership or permissions of the drive or card.  My Windows 8 computer once changed the ownership of an external drive and i could not longer delete or move files on it.  Had to change the rights back.   I imagine that can happen with SD cards too.

Thanks. I'll try those tomorrow. I think I've had enough SD card issues for a day.

looks like they are stuck at iBasso until they come back from holiday. Very unsatisfactory amd unproffesional to leave work unfinished and dash out the door on holiday and just face the music upon return. Seriously thinking of cancelling my order. I have a DX100 afterall and this was just a luxury but I hate bad service. I never expected this of iBasso though

It also depends on preference on sound sig re the bass roll off due to OI mismatch.  James from iriver specifically mentioned that they designed the amp section for AK120 to use a similar 3ohm design for the best sound they preferred.  Similarly despite the >1ohm mod by RedWineAudio, many other modders, notably the russians who also brought us the hecked AK100 firmwares, also picked 3ohm instead of >1ohm for their AK100 mods.   I also think this actually help to give DX50 a less warm and whammy type sound sig that many of us early adopters described as less warm and more

neutral with sensitive IEMs like the XBA4, TG334 or JH13pro.

I have no issue with the 3ohm or the sound with my low impedance phones and I may actually like it.  The one thing I have problem with is the deviation from the specs and hopefully we can get some clarification from iBasso if there is a change in the intended design, or it is a last minute changes on the production line.

Just updated to 1.2.0 and thanks for Soren it went perfectly well as had my other updates went.

regardless if you like it or not, a TRUE source is not supposed to influence the sound, in this case the DX50 is forcibly removing bass from earphones and this is NOT good. Saying that the DX50 has an output impedance of 3 ohms is being 'polite', remember that the graph shows that at 20hz the DX50 has an output impedance of 14 ohms, this is not acceptable of an audiophile player, and makes the DX50 difficult to like for bass heads, or people that actually like their source to have a nice flat frequency response...

Yes. Very unproffesional indeed. After all, you hate bad service amd iBasso is famous for bad service. I'm sure you already know this since you have a DX100 afterall.

Amd I'm also sure they will be facing a lot of music when they return. Maybe you should cancel your order amd spend more time relaxing with your DX100.

First if I had a DX100 I would have most likely not purchased a DX50 unless I am deep into audiophile daps and would need a portable one like Soren did. Second really, what's one week in your audiophile life? I am from the first batch and had to wait longer because of casing issues. Besides those guys also need some rest, they have been hard at getting the dap ready and functional as soon as it was possible. I can say they've done a great job creating the dap. Have a good cup of coffee watch some movies and in no time your DX50 will be at the door waiting for you wink.gif

If you still wanna buy biggrin.gif

the frustration comes from getting a 'shipped' email with a tracking number, yet nothing has actually been sent out from ibasso. it could be a week or so after getting the dispatch email before the product is finally sent. holiday or no holiday it is shoddy service.
