You won't need a card reader, there is a cable provided in the box. You simply turn the player on then connect to your PC/laptop via USB then drag and drop your files onto the root menu of either internal or external  (micro sd card). Just be sure to eject the player properly. Make sure you turn the player on before you connect to USB.

So are you going to post a couple comparisons today? I will be getting mine later this month.

No, it is really easy, but it failed the first time for me. Worked easily the second time though.

Do I just drop the fw file on the card and it will auto update?

Drop it into the DX50 and then unplug it and click on settings, advances and system update. It should update on the first try, but if it doesn't just try again.

Yup. First you need to wipe everything from your SD card, load the firmware file onto your SD card via a USB3.0 cable connected via the DX50. Unplug the battery once the update is finish to finalise your settings. It should run fine after that.

i deleted 2 folders: album_img and LOST.DIR and tried the update twice - no go, update failed. not getting invalid image tho. seems like its updating then just fails. I also did a factory reset before trying.

Oh my bad, didnt know the rules but thanks. I guess sending this back to ibasso is more appropriate to do.

If you don't mind me asking, why is it after 10 minutes you know you do not want this anymore. I'm going to be buying this soon and want to know.

Arvo Part - nice!

I have some Part going to my player at the moment, still have not heard it yet. using my UE Super.fi Pro 5's.

I guess my player updated, says 1.1.6. can't figure that out.

"Holy cow you must be bored" great album!  Unfortunately it is so compressed that there is very little detail or separation despite the sound-stage being so amazingly deep!

No hiss heard here on Senn Momentums but slight hiss with 1964 Triples (CIEM) which I also get on the DX100.

Please remember to turn down your DX50 prior to playing another track.

Has anyone found a workaround to files not playing in album order?

Is the DX50 supposed to show up on the desk top when plugged into the USB?

Yes, it should be.  However, I continue to have problems mounting the iBasso as mass storage drive.  My laptop & desktop keep not recognizing it as a USB device.  Has anyone else experienced similar problems?  BTW, I reboot my computer as well as turning the DX50 off several times and problem persists.
