It's actually sdxc micro sd. It's just the way it's written on the ad copy. Yeah, it can get confusing.

- Support SDXC and SDHC MicroSD card, up to 2TB

James comment is only "the most funny thing I have saw in head-fi."

He didn't mention anything about the price or comparison

Exactly. That part was from Sorensiim

James was just quoting Sorensiim, see the link below.

Yeah, my bad - I remembered seeing it somewhere but it was probably when I was drunk again and missed that he was quoting as he didn't use the quote option, which lead to my confusion.

To be perfectly honest I'm seriously rooting for Fiio or  iBasso to continue to make excellent pocketable DAPs at reasonable prices.  It wasn't fun when my options were AK100 or AK120 just 4 months back in May this year....   :(

Fiio is coming out with an X5 and iBasso will probably come out with a DX75 next year.

$500 would be a good price...

Right now, there is a 64GB SDXC (exFAT) sitting in my DX50 and it works like a charm.
I don't see the problem here.

I just re-worded my post as a huge number of people seem to be either offended by it, reading too much into it or simply misunderstanding what I was trying to say.

Here is the new wording:

Quote:

EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION: I was discussing the DX50 vs the Fiio X3 with an "industry insider". According to him, the DX50 is a better value for money than the X3, judging only by the cost of the parts/implementation.

Comparing the X3 and the DX50 in terms of value for money, let's look at the cost of the components where the DX50 is better different than the X3:

Fiio X3 is $199
Better* AMP section, with dual single high precision opamps: $199+$20 = 219USD
Better housing, $219+$10 = $229
IPS screen,$229+$10 = $239
Touch screen, $239+$15 = $254
OCA bonding $254+$5 = $259
OTG function, $259+$10 = $269
Gain swtich $269+$5 = $274
User replaceable battery $274+$10 = $284
Graphic user interface: $284+$5 = $289

Throwing in some $ for the very nice packaging, mini-to-coax cable etc., $299 would have been a fair price for the DX50.

(All cost estimates provided by a Chinese friend in the industry)

*This is a matter of taste. Based solely on my previous experiences with Ibasso and Fiio gear, I expect the Ibasso to have a cleaner, more detailed sound and the Fiio to have a warmer signature.
I hope I can get to test the X3 head-to-head against the DX50. Until then, please see the above for what it is: A qualified guess that the profit margin is probably lower on the DX50 than on the X3.

Thanks Sorensiim for taking the time to reply. Yes I did hold the power button longer and even did battery pull but same thing happened ( green circle with charged on it). Finally resolved the problem by entering into recovery mode and reboot. Managed to update the firmware to 1.15. smily_headphones1.gif
