For the price you paid for the HM901, I'd hope you like it more over the 50! biggrin.gif

it does. ER4S works best on Mid gain setting, I think. High is too bright.

Problem is, sounds thin on the low end. i haven't used my ER4S in years so maybe that's just par for the course.

i'm using a portable amp that has bass boost to fill it out. without that i don't like this pairing. with it - very good.

Thanks very much for doing that, much appreciate it.

Sadly I paid even more for the ak120 than the hm901 AND the extra balanced amp board.... The AK120 was a great DAP combining nice size, exquisite finishing, stable UI, ample power, and good peripheral features. I would still hold onto it I needed the usb dac.

Still glad I sold it early as there had been more people selling it locally and the price is getting lower and lower...

I can't believe how close iBasso got to a perfect DAP at this price range. Sound is much better than what it costs, build is pretty good and it looks a bit worse than the AK120 and that's it. If only the problems were sorted out...

Exactly one week with the DX50. FW updated to 1.1.5....Still few quirks....worst is 24/192 play is slo-mo:confused_face:

BUT listening to George Benson "Guitar Man' on 24/96 right now with my IEMs, I must say what a wonderfully natural sounding DAP, the DX50 is. The ease of presentation is so easy on the ears, coherent and balanced.

It is not the most detailed among my Daps, but it is so engaging and one can, simply, get lost in the music..........

As I'm aware DX100 measures very well, so my question is...... Are you DX50 owners using low impedance IEM  detecting any low end roll off, I would hope not?

Could you clarify something for the hard of understanding please ( me).
Does a LOW impedance equate to a low numerical value, or a high one?

I ask as I have a 'hybridised' UE TF10 and wonder whether it might work well with the DX50?

I believe the UE TF10 starts life at 32 Ohms, so I guess they my version would be something similar, but I don't know if 32 Ohms is high impedance, or low.

Please excuse my ignorance :-/

Low numeric value.

32ohms is classed as low impedance.
100ohms would be classed as higher impedance.

I'm using ER4P (i've lost "S"-adapter somewhere). Sound is good, balanced. But this is not a perfect combo, sound signature is on the clinical side, feeling that you are a sound engineer. I want to have more life and energy in this combo.
Xuelin 760 sounds better. Maybe iBasso will give us some new little more warm and energetic sounding firmware, or me need to use more warm IEMs. Don't have a lot of free time for searching.
PS
Anyone tried Sennheiser IE6-80? I think that combo should be very good.
PPS

One my friend tried Vsonic VSD1 and said that combo was sounding for 1000$

Thanks for the info H2O.

Have any owners tried the DX50 with TF10's?

Any thoughts on whether it's likely to synergise well?

Btw is the screen finger print prone? Cause the screen protector definitely is.

Thanks mate, I don't mind analytical or clinical when the time suits, but I understand exactly what you're saying because sigs like that tend not to be terribly versatile. I have a funny feeling  IHIFI 760 (which is still coming btw) might be better suited to ER4S, give them some musicality and a hint of warmth as the Studio V I use with ER4S makes the entire signature sound rather clinical. the pairing has strong technical ability such as detail extension and, separation but really only suits certain genres.

So for you going off memory do you prefer the sound of DX50, or the sound of IHIFI 760 you demo'd?

Which DAP was your friend referring to when he said the VSD1 sounded $1000 worth? smily_headphones1.gif
