The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 930

I had 1.2.8 + Rockbox installed, so I first installed stock_recovery from CWM recovery menu and after that I wanted to update to 1.5.0 and I did this by choosing the update menu in the stock 1.2.8 firmware. To be sure I checked after stock_recovery installation and power and + gave me the origninal recovery menu so I figured that I was back to 1.2.8 original FW and thus would be able to update :(

Hi.

I read about the different firms and they catch my attention.

I think the preferences depend about the headphones your are using. I use a Shure 535 Red Edition with my DX50.

Which (possibly) could the best firm to use with them?

Thanks.

I have a shure 535 Ltd too. And I prefer them with mega sound explosion v1.1.

Would suggest that you try out stock 1.5, mega sound explosion v1.1, mega sound explosion and mega sound explosion second version.

If the file says .Update, you just update it as always.  Download the pdf from iBasso for your device, it will tell you how.  Or download any firmware from the iBass o site, it has a txt included..  If there is a custom CWM involved, that's a whole different matter.  If you are not tech savvy please think twice about doing this.   Reverting can be a bit tricky.

Using the RKbatchtool to revert to any FW is very easy. Don't worry about bricking it. Rk will unbrick ANYTHING short of a physically broken player

Assuming you are using a Windows computer.  :smile_phones:

So are there more DX50 firmwares than days of the year yet? I hear things are moving at a rapid pace.

Some people said the 1.5.0 got warmer from 1.2.8. You gotta be kidding me it has gotten a lot brighter for me! Any plausible reason for that?
