Last time I asked they said it was more a curiosity than we'll do it later. They meant they'll research it and see when they can, if ever, promise it. The bottom line if the USB would be USB 2.0 compatible, they'd have nothing to do to make it work so not sure what they will programm on the DX50 USB input but right now not Mac compatible.

Well, lets see what comes this month, i use last year a fiio x3 and the DAC that was implemented was plug and play on my mac, hope Ibasso dont get behind its cheaper competitor

Teetering on the edge of purchasing a DX50 (the DX90 is out of range right now) and I'm wondering if the BioScience Geek cMoy (18v with a AD8620ARZ op-amp) would pair well with it? I use Westone 3s. You can see I'm working on a budget amp-wise. I've also got an iBasso T3 which is tiny but may also work well I'm guessing?

Don't even know why iBasso seems to be putting their efforts to even making a 32 bit driver without the 64 bit.  32 bit OS' are no longer common and should even be going away soon.  It was estimated Windows 8 may only be 64 bit, 32 bit is lingering around but it isn't what most things come with.  Haven't used a 32 bit OS in years.  Hopefully they do place their efforts on making a 64 bit version or the entire idea of it being a USB DAC will be useless for most people.

It maybe news to some but iBasso is already ready with the 64-bit drivers just waiting from Microsoft's certificate. So don't stress yourself too much why iBasso has 32-bit drivers at the moment.

I have an old iBasso T3D which works but is not the best. It will undermine the player with its high level of noise compared to the DX50. If you want to amp, you have to pick one that is at least better than the DX50 else you might as well use the DX50's.

My advice: save some money for a better amp or else save some for a DX90 without an amp. Your journey should be one of least components. wink.gif

So I was listening to my dx50/bh2 combo last night in my car while I was waiting to pick someone up. I picked up the stack to change the song and the sound got kinda scratchy, like the LO jack wasnt all the way inserted. I pushed the interconnect in lightly and there was more scratching then a distinct change in the sound. It became tinny with almost no bass, like the plug didnt have full contact.

I thought it might be the cable so I tried the 3' aux cable I use in my car as my interconnect. It also sounded tinny and 'off'. I plug my M100's into the HO and they sound fine. I plug the BH2 into the HO (on a low volume) and it sounds fine.

So, I think my LO partially died. This is a bummer as I usually use it amped. Has anyone else had this problem? Or, how is iBasso about exchanges? Do they take a lot of convincing? I would like to send it back, as the awesome LO on the DX50 is one of its main selling points, especially once the USB DAC function is implemented.

I havent opened the case up to see if the jack is easily accessible, but even if it is, I would rather RMA it than try to fix it myself and void the warranty probably.

With your experience, which amps offer a considerable step up from the dx50? I'm using the HO with my SM64s and feel it's already very good...

My LO is dying, and my HO is dead. If you do decide to DIY it, please let me know how you did it, and how finicky a process it is

I can't seem to find the headphone female jack to replace it. Mine isn't spoilt, just very very loose like a whore. Anyone has a parts number? If not I'll have to send it all the way to China...

I have not used the low tier amps but mainly HeadAmp and RSA amps. I love those two vendors because they put quality in the product they build. My best setup so far without having an overkill system is the Pico Slim, it's an amazing amp, the two together sound fantastic, to me at least, it's better the DX50 HO by a margin.

You should get it fixed by iBasso, they do it for free during the one year warranty as long as you pay for shipping it to them, they'll ship it free to you. As far as it dying, if it is just a mechanical issue (contacts are bad due to plug insertions), you can buy those plugs on the web, mouser and digikey should have the connector available. You'll need to do some soldering to the board. if you have enough courage, you'll need to open up the player and check the connector shape, then go to one of those sites and type 3.5 mm female plug.

My DX50 will be taking the haul back to China hopefully to come back like it was intended to be/work.
