The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 885

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a spot of advice / suggestions for universal IEM's to pair with my DX50. I currently have a pair of DreamEarz AUD-8X Custom IEMs and also a pair of Sennheiser HD600....I tend to use both of these with the Duet amp when I am static (home and office). I don't always want to dig my customs out and would therefore like a pair of universal IEM's to use with the DX50 alone.

I'm looking for a nice pair of IEM's that are fairly neutral, with good mids. I'm not a bass head but do like to hear the bass when it's there. I listen to a variety of music but a fair amount of female vocals, rock, indie and some electro jazz. Probably looking at between £300 and £400 price wise.

Am I the only one surprised that this thread hasn't been closed?

If I were Ibasso I'd have my lawyers all over it.

The Shure SE535 I am currently using would fit the picture to a tee. smily_headphones1.gif I have had them since my DX50 purchase ever since and it works marvel with the DX90 too.
Extremely good performer and really love the cable cause I can switch it if need be also you can transform it in a balanced iems if you want to, I have done It.

i still thinking the volume spike is due involuntary vol button pressing

when having at half vol, if pressing the vol button, it could be rising quite fast

That's not the problem, it happened to me without even pressing the volume button, in most situations it was when I move the player around maybe the static caused it to flip the digital volume up because it has always happened when moving my dap out of my sweatshirt coat pocket. frown.gif

I've never encountered volume problems but regularly I got interference issues. I think the DX50 intercept the 3G signal of my Iphone when it searches for it. And it is really annoying: this morning I had a great electric noise un my right headphone that hurt my ear. I was lucky because I was using my fidelio l2 and volume was only 190. I don't even dare imagine if I was using my QJays at 220!

I'm with 1.2.8 fw since some days (before 1.2.5) and i think I lost some bass...or it is only my imagination...

Firmware version 1.2.8 is perfect across the range IMO.

My most enjoyable setup at work to kill the office buzz.

I used the exact instructions from the FAQ section, here is the link : http://www.head-fi.org/a/ibasso-dx50-faq#user_update

It just worked. I did use the recovery mode to perform the factory reset. Can you explain to me in steps what happened as you were following the above FAQ steps?

^No.

Would like to find out some confirmation from those having DX50 playing DSD tracking and output to external DAC via coaxial port. My external DAC is Matrix Mini-i pro which able to display the bit rate from input source. When I played DSD 2.8m track via mini coaxial my DAC will display a bit rate of 88khz, so DX50 actually downsampled DSD track to stereo PCM across the SPDIF interface and at lower 88khz? I knew SPDIF cannot support DSD track but, won't it be nice if it output at higher 192khz?
